Get in Markovic and Sanchez, and that will bolster the attack. I still want Shaqiri as well I think Sturridge and Coutinho will step up - they looked so good together when Suarez was out last time, especially Coutinho so I'm expecting big things from him.
Liverpool close in on £68m of transfer talent Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers looks set to continue significantly strengthening his first-team squad at Anfield ahead of the new campaign, and already has £68 million worth of talent lined up for a move to Merseyside this summer. The Daily Telegraph reports how the Reds boss plans to follow up the £4 million acquisition of England striker Rickie Lambert and £10 million capture of Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen with the addition of at least four new players before the close of the transfer window. With over £60 million available to spend - and any extra money made from outgoing player sales - the Northern Irishman is determined to add more quality to his ranks in preparation for Liverpool's return to the Champions League in 2014/15. Although there are question marks surrounding the long-term future of star striker Luis Suarez, Rodgers might look to use the Uruguayan's sorry situation to his advantage by demanding much-coveted Chilean Alexis Sanchez in any potential deal that would see Suarez move to Camp Nou. The South American's departure from Anfield would obviously be a huge loss to the Premier League giants, but there are plans already in place to soften the blow with the arrival of several new players that each have earned rave reviews for their respective performances either at the World Cup or over the past 12 months. Good point! Back then we had Henderson and Downing on the wings. Swap those with 2 of Sterling, Lallana and Sanchez and we will be well on our way.
agree, but as long as we soften the impact of losing him we have a chance. all boils down to how good a deal we get, and what we do with the money.
He's special but..... Rush was coming to the end of his Use By Date, We had Fowler to take over.. Whilst Fowler was still with us, Owen came along.. Owen left and we had a wee barren spell but Cisse did OK'ish Torres turns up... he wasn't too bad for us... and when he leaves, Luis arrives.. We've done well up front for a fair few years now. We already have Sturridge in place, Ford and Sterling will only get better (not strikers but hope to see their goal return/assist increase) Who knows, we may even get Sanchez, that won't be a bad addition to the front line...
Individually, maybe not. Sometimes one individual leaving can be replaced by a better team ethic. Having said that, we replaced Rush, Fowler, Owen Torres, etc, all of which were "unreplaceable" so I guess time will tell...
Anyhoo, it appears from those who think they're in the know, the Sanchez doesn't fancy a move to us.. He wants London or back to Italy, with Juve a likely destination.. Good player, would love to have had him, but like others have said, he his heart ain't in the move then we've dodged a bullet there, don't need another Sahin!
