Imagine steven gerrard joining a 'bigger club' like chelsea or man city and talking about "greater ambition". This man was our captain and he gracelessly went to join a flavor of the month club with no shame and only a vague reference in a ****ty interview for the club that brought him into the limelight.

In regards to an earlier post where is said all i wanted was some acknowledgement. He mentioned this in his first LFC interview "I'd like to thank everyone at Southampton for what they have done for me". I'll be perfectly honest in saying that (for me)its not enough...you were the goddamn captain, show some class...some vague mention in a dull never to be mentioned interview won't cut it after the **** you've pulled.

I was hoping the PM would be more juicy - but oddly I was hoping it wouldn't make me hate Lallana any less. The other option being, I guess, hating the board - and we're stuck with them. However, I am relieved to say that this particular factoid doesn't change my opinion one iota.

 

Well, he could have been a legend for Southampton.

I hope he fails miserably in Liverpool and hope in the future neither our or Liverpool fans will remember him fondly.

 

I'm up to page 30 and so far Lallana has signed a liverpool shirt for a small child. The bastard. Guess the juicy bit where he slags us off comes soon. The only shameful behavior I've seen so far is from the Saints fans. But I shall keep reading.

See, I don't really mind if someone is ambitious and wants to play for a top club. But then you don't go on and say things like this. Not unless you're a ****ing hypocrite.

Reading some of the remarks on here, I suspect SB3 would be more welcome than Adam Lallana!!!!

 

I just don't understand Adam. Some of his comments are truly crass.

"I am grateful Southampton accepted the offer in the end and granted my wish to play at such a fantastic football club with Champions League football and competing for Premier League titles.

"They are different targets to those of a club like Southampton and I am just going to be pushing to be the best I can.

Not altogether sure, but perhaps what is happening now is necessary - like us mere mortals who may feel the need to change company every four or five years, players need to re-freshen themselves by moving to a new club when the opportunity arises. How often would a chance to move to one of the great clubs in World football happen in a player's lifetime? If he had stayed, perhaps the next time would be to move to Tottenham, who are not at the same level as Liverpool. It is also a chance for Southampton to bring in fresh blood.
Or it is the fact that Adam didn't same something about Saints that is upsetting so many here? I am sure he will as he has a lot to be thankful for during his time here.

 

Nobody is disputing his right, based on ability, to test himself at a higher level - hence why nobody is upset with Rickie, and actually nobody is really all that upset with Shaw. They went about what they were doing honourably. You actually expect a BETTER standard of behaviour from someone given the honour of captaining the club, but no, he's weasled his way into his move. That's the part that grates, not the move itself.
