This is all moot since I'm sure you'll strengthen, but yeah it really is. We've done alright but only because we've spent a lot and spent it well. Yes our team spirit and players from the Championship have helped but without the big signings we'd have been nowhere. Your side is no more special and you wouldn't be able to compete without strengthening, same as everyone else. I also don't think Campbell would be coming in as 3rd choice. I don't agree with OLM that he's not PL quality. He looked good for Cardiff last year and he's always looked good in the PL for me, even if he didn't have a great scoring record at first.
Why does it matter that Hull have been in the Premier League? I can guarantee that I've seen more live Premier League matches in the last 10 years than you have.
Best players in the Championship 2014 - Ings, McCormack, Drinkwater, Andy Reid Best players in the premiership 2014 - Suarez, Aguero, Toure, Hazard Nah mate not a step up at all...
Yes really I do believe that your side is no more special than ours or any other promoted to the PL and will need to strengthen to compete. What could be controversial about that?
Personally, I wouldn't have kept Nigel, don't think he's good enough and could easily be sacked by Christmas
You're lying, or braindead. 6 defeats to your 15. 31 wins to your 24. 83 goals to your 61. 43 goals conceded to your 52. 21 games unbeaten, 9 games won in a row...
You said all this earlier. But you can't compare different seasons, that's daft. The whole league was exceptionally tight the year we went up, and more open the year you went up. It means nothing. But even if we went up together, look at us, Palace and Cardiff. Cardiff were top, and Palace were way behind us both in 6th. Yet they finished the highest despite spending the least, and Cardiff finished the lowest despite spending the most. That clearly shows that a team's promotion form doesn't affect their survival chances, and last year is hardly an exceptional case, it happens quite a lot. The year before Reading went down after winning the league while West Ham and Southampton stayed up.
You compared us? Saying that our side is no more special than yours is comparing. It's like saying that the Chelsea side that accumulated 95 points in 05 is no more special than the Man United side that managed 75 points in 96. Yes, both got the same rewards. But that Chelsea side was clearly better.
My point is that you haven't, recently anyway. So our experience is valid. Without Premier League quality, you team will struggle. You seem to be under the impression that your Championship team with a couple of additions will be enough. I'm just telling you it won't.
Again, i've seen more than enough Premier League and Championship games to know that my team has enough quality to stay in the Premier League.
Without boring everyone to death we all proved under Sven big transfer fees and big wages for proven players doesnt guarantee nothing Is our squad good enough to compete now. Most definitely, yes it would get a few hidings but so do Arsenal Is our squad good enough to stay up? Maybe and maybe not As OLM said Nigel will strengthen to give us the best possible chance Your in a similar position to Norwich last year where they spent a bit and players everyone thought was good signings. Its possible you can get relegated whilst its possible you could do a Southampton Thats the beauty of football. Very fine lines
So you don't think I've seen a single Premier League match since 2004? To be blunt, you're a bit dim.
