I appreciate backing against NUFC isn't to everyone's liking but I like my insurance bets as you well know (especially the Mackems).

With this in mind Here are the odds for relegation for next season courtesy of Paddy Power.

I have a bit left over from my Mackem winnings so will look to add that to a pot to create a stake of £40 and pop it on at 8/1.

Hope to fook I lose but it is, like I say an insurance bet.

Surely better to wait until we get closer to the start of the season and see who everyone buys, especially ourselves. When we sign a decent striker and one of these French midfielders the outlook will start to look brighter.

It all boils down to how confident each of us are that we will start next season with a stronger squad.
Personally I have a really gloomy outlook right now so hopefully I'll lose my money.

We have the longest odds outside of the traditional top 7. Seems this board is much more pessimistic than the great British public. Barring another leadership meltdown a la 2008/09 its a waste of cash, no way will the fat pratt allow the relegation to happen. Costs too much y'see.

It does, but I think he's almost entirely out of touch with what's needed. It may well be that Lasogga/Gomis weren't really targets after all, but it all looks a bit sh!t in my opinion. I'm no longer sure the owner is aware of what needs to be done, and the manager's without a spine so unlikely to ever cause enough of a stink. I mean, if we went down, I could well imagine Pards would keep his job and quite enjoy the low-stress of the Championship. It's bizarre, but I just feel the club's lost the plot.

Fair enough, I reckon chubby chops has more business sense than that. The championship may well be low stress for Pards but Ashley would lose so much cash I can't see him allowing this to happen. He may try and scrape by in the first half but any hint of trouble in January and he'll open the chequebook again.

Its a pretty unsatisfying way to run a club for us mind.

I used to bet against Saints every week when we were in League 1. We were nearly always favourites so when we lost to the likes of Rocchdale and Walsall I had a nice wedge to get pissed on! <ok>

Also tempted to have 50 on us at 7/1....

Oh, don't get me wrong, I can see it playing out like that but he's so arrogant/ignorant we will never change the frugal approach which I feel will be our undoing.

I could never bring myself to bet against us no matter how bad things got. Not criticising those who do - I just can't do it. I'd walk in with every intention and then walk out wondering why the **** I'd just stuck money on us to qualify for Europe. It's a curse! :(

The odds do seem tempting due to the fact we seem to be shipping players out with what appears to be very little activity to bring anyone decent over the line.
