I have just read this piece on the West London Sport website from our QPR supporting journalist David McIntyre, worth a gander when you get ten min spare. Offer them free advertising on the team jock-strap. "Car" on the front band, and "Giant" on the pouch, which would have the added advantage of making the players feel good about themselves
I think Boris would just stick a compulsory purchase order on it. He's under pressure with regards to housing in the capital. Getting the largest regeneration project in Europe going on his watch won't do his political chances any harm.
A friend of mine did an invertebrate survey at the site last week as part of the ecological assessment needed for planning. I've told him not to find anything too rare...would be just our luck for it to get kicked out cos of a rare beetle! Going to be a long process. Might as well enjoy the loftus road while we can!
Here's what I've been telling people for months. The Stadium isn't in Old oak common, it's slap bang on the car giant site around hythe rd/enterprise way/salter street. The entire project will involve old oak, park royal, Willesden junction and Nth acton, but the stadium it self will be on Hythe rd/Kensal Green area.
