I'm not saying he shouldn't get what he can that's the most obvious thing to do, what I'm saying is terms HAVE been agreed but he is keeping his options open. Once terms are agreed sign or move on, it's pretty clear to me he's hoping someone will come in with a better deal. Time to move on plenty of players out there.
If that's true, then I agree that he should just sign. But the Evening Posts says... "It is understood that contrary to some reports, Gomis has not yet agreed the finer details of a contract which could tie him to Swansea for the next four seasons and that negotiations between the club and his representatives were continuing yesterday." I suppose it's only Gomis and the club that really know. If he's really delaying signing then the club should impose a deadline and cancel the deal.
Gomez had apparently agreed terms with us and us with him. He has been in Swansea for almost a week now, why is that? He initially arrived her for a bog standard medical; which usually takes a day. It appears though, that the medical was only partially completed. Very strange this unless either: 1. He didn't complete his medical because, maybe, his representative had received or was trying to improve an offer elsewhere; but if this was so then why is Gomez still in Swansea??? OR, a bit leftfield this one, 2. Whatif he couldn't complete his medical as he couldn't provide a clean 'sample'. Its a stressful job he's got, maybe he's just 'chillaxin' at Morgans until he can 'squirt clean'. Just a thought like!
Imagine if we sign gomez on a super wage , Bony gets sold before season starts and we get relegated . We could end up spending our parachute payments to pay Gomez's wages if we cant unload him .
Hope not RJ. I'd sooner keep Bony and not sign Gomez. He just seems temperamental to me, like he'd get a mood on if things didn't quite go his way. French speaker though so him and Bony should understand each other well. Still seem a loose canon to me, not a team player, just a hunch
Beware the free signing stumpy , it can come back to haunt you in wages . Lots of players run theyre contracts down to get big wages . Totally with you on keeping Bony , . Im a firm believer in Bony being a one in a million signing and we should do everything humanly possible to hang onto him .Nothing against Gomez , except we have to put to much on his plate to take a chance .Even if we lose Bony , Id rather not sign Gomez under these conditions
I am not as pessimistic about Bony leaving as some. If you stop to think, the clubs that can offer him Champions League football and higher wages are limited. Some of those clubs are already signing and looking at other options. Only Liverpool and Man City could be options in this country because of the Suarez situation and because Aguerro is injury prone.
If we keep Bony also , relegation is almost impossible imo . My only fear is a change in the wage structure that cant be turned back .
Welcome aboard ,I hope his time with us will be a fruitful and successful as our previous big signings , great if we can keep all our players this year then I believe a top 10 position is more than possible .
Well the Never household are happy tonight!!! Beers all round, welcome you Jack Bastard Gomis!!! http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/gomis-signs-1669757.aspx
quite a few , but Fabanski and Gomis puts that theory to bed ,his next big task is to keep who he wants to keep .
God knows what could happen if we manage to keep Bony and Michu. All three fully fit and on form could give us potentially 60-70 goals between them
**** sake stop being so negative. If you ain't bashing Monk you're bashing HJ. Huw and Garry have managed to do this deal. FACT
