That was paraphrased from an article in Wales Online posted on here a few weeks ago, celebrating the part Ron Ruddick played in getting Bale's career started by signing him to Saints' academy. And there's no need for sarcasm if the facts contradict your argument CBK. See, I can be patronising too.
By doing all of our transfers so transparently, we have probably added about £5million to each player we try and sign.
I know who is right in this matter. It won't be the persons whose information on football is based upon what they read on the internet.
Well he said a couple of big money departures. Lovren is surely one, and I'd certainly rather Osvaldo left than Morgan, or Vic, or Clyne.
To be fair CBK is right......He did train for a while with Cardiff and was given the chance to stay as a youngster. He also trained for while with another welsh club although I forget who that was. The only reason, if memory serves, that he might not join saints, was a manager change, or something was going on at Saints, that delayed the call he wanted.
Me too, however I am now thinking that he might be useful. He's a good player who cocked up... again (when has a big player made a mistake and kept repeating the same thing ) . Might need him coming in and feeling like he's the main man.
Nothing I said was incorrect. You are, I am sure, correct if Bale told you personally that he had an offer from Cardiff when Saints were dithering over his scholarship, but "having an offer" is a bit different from "being stolen from". Was he on Cardiff's books before he was 9 years old?
Not that I'm aware. Doesn't take away from my original point that many of Saints recent transfers of academy products were not as clear cut "died in the wool Saints players from birth" that some feel is the case.
I think that Lovren, Osvaldo & even Ramirez are all likely to go. I think Ronald is looking at players that want to be here. He seems to have a number of options to buy. Marshall - GK, Caulker / Van Dijk - CB, Kolo - LB, Tadic - Wing, Ings / Hernandez & Pelle - Strikers. I think Pelle coming is inevitable. Ronald clearly wants him and Pelle wants to follow him. Just hope the other clubs don't jack up the price now they know we are loaded !
