well i think suarez has got off very lightly
4 month ban when he would have been on holiday for a month of it anyway
will miss 9 PL matches and his 1st home appearance will be against us lol
9 Internationals not to hefty a ban for a 3rd biting offence

It's less than he deserves, but considering the sheer ineptitude previously displayed by FIFA, I'll take it.

Wonder how Liverpool approach this now? It's surely decreased his value because of the loss of potential marketability and the fact he misses 20% of the season every year on bans! Given his age and these problems, just can't see anyone spending the sort of money that was spent on Ronaldo and Bale (Much younger and more marketable), coupled with increasing FFP considerations and that both Spanish giants spent big last summer.

He's probably more in the 50-60 million bracket now - still huge money but not what Liverpool would have wanted, and maybe got a week ago.

Additionally, if the big boys decide he's too much of a risk then Suarez will be faced with the realization that he'll never play in the top bracket and never win the top prizes that his talent deserves. It will dawn on him that he himself faces mediocrity for what remains of his career and has only himself to blame. Last season he was incredible when he knew he was in the shop window but if Europe's finest cease looking his motivation will nose dive.

As you say, his marketable value has plummeted after his disgrace. The only Suarez shirts you'll see being bought now will have a knife & fork alongside.
