A lot of cash can be quite dangerous, encourages the wrong targets sometimes. I do hope we are careful with it. Losing Luke is one thing, but spunking the cash like spurs on heat would be unforgivable!
If we sell Lovren for a hefty fee then you can't complain. He's a great player and I would much rather he stayed, but every player has his price I guess and he's signaled his intent to leave with the transfer request. Annoying that he goes after only one season and has used us as 'rebound' club, but this is the way these days, like it or not. Getting all this money though, in one way is good I guess. Hopefully we can reinvest and get some good players in to replace the ones that leave. But I hope it's not too many more. For quite a few seasons now we have just added to the squad and replaced the few that have left. No major surgery was required, but it may be quite a hard task for Ron to assemble and gel a radically different first team quickly so that we can hit the floor running when the new season starts.
Man Utd are buying the potential of the kid,at this stage of his career he's not a worldy,IMO Bale was better but as I say it's all about opinions. Be interesting to see how many assess Shaw had whilst in 1st team.
Depends what we count as hefty, I suppose. In one way, £18m would be doubling our money, but I dunno if it's really the max we could squeeze out of him.
Bad times. Even if we make 100mil, that's still more of a gamble than id take personally. 5 key players to replace, plus a new manager.
What exactly has he done wrong? Hasn't said anything publicly has he? And if we sell every player who asks for it, we'll have no-one left before long.
Would the league allow us to put three pallets of cash in front of our goal? I'm looking forward to watching a pile of cash next season
It has relegation fight written all over it, but lets see what Ronny can do in pre-season before letting depression take hold.
I thought I'd got a hold on this, but am beginning to fume. The odd player for silly money...OK, but others should be told no firmly when they first ask. None of this seeking the right price, a deal good for the club...just say bloody no. You cannot let half a team go at the same time. Lovren is a definite no for me and I am very angry at him for seeking a move so quickly...the bastard. It seems to me that having a good season under MP wasn't worth the price...he has unsettled the side rather than brought them together.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If we do sell all of them I'll be absolutely furious given what the board have been saying, but it surely won't happen.
