Not exactly mutually exclusive with mine and Tom's opinion. He can do well for them but still not be worth the £8m. I think he'll be decent too.
Haven't seen that much of Bilbao this season. What's Herrera been like? 32mil seems very steep from what little I've seen of him.
Filling that void. Doing a quick scan online of fans' opinions, they seem happy. I think they're just relieved to have made a big signing. I think they should be very concerned that they've signed a player they were after last summer, despite a change in manager since then.
Maybe they're going for the age old "all attacking midfielders and nothing else" transfer tactics, like arsenal have been using so successfully for the last decade. Rvp Rooney mata Herrera fellaini januzaj Carrick Jones Smalling Evans De Gea Right?.... Right?!
Not sure about that. Perhaps, like us, other teams have a group responsible for purchasing suitable players. New managers may make suggestions, but other players are brought in as part of a long term plan. This will be seen if we sign Ings.
It's fine to have committee decisions on signings, but when your recent history involves the signings of Fellaini, Buttner, Mata and Kagawa, you might be rightly concerned about their ability to make the decisions.
We have had mixed fortunes with our signings...difference is that they can afford to make mistakes, whereas we need to be really sure of our buys..especially the dear ones.
Considering they didn't need him and still don't, yeah. He's a fantastic player but it's a complete waste of money to strengthen a position which was already strong. Dunno who makes these decisions. I'm not even convinced the Van Persie signing was worth it. It's just "let's sign some stars and just cram them all in somehow".
