RAWK is quite a good read right now. They all seem to think FIFA have ****ed over Liverpool, not Suarez himself.
I'm ok with that. If he'd got reds for the bites, the FA and FIFA might have bullshitted themselves out of a big ban, citing that he's already been punished.
Even if they had the right, I don't think they would. An appeal would push the start of the ban back and he'd miss more games. They'll just be happy half his ban is during the summer.
On the other hand, if the ref had seen it and sent him off, Italy might have gone through. Apples and oranges, I suppose.
Banned from Football Activity as well. He won't be fit for a long time or match sharp. No pre season training - and won't be allowed to train with Liverpool or any other team until late October. I think they'll cash in on him.
That's a good point. He may well be eligible to play on the 1st November but he won't be match fit at all.
Also, Godin should have been sent off against England, and he was the one who scored the winner against Italy. Uruguay have been remarkably fortunate with refereeing decisions all round really, and almost certainly owe their continued participation in the competition to that fortune.
