Italy probably won't have a Pirlo anymore.

not sure why anyone would want to defend Englands international record .. huff n puff but thats it ,

the coaching must have a different focus from the long balls from deep , its boring and when players get the ball in the middle they are freaked out by it

I missed the game. Can't be arsed to trawl through 17 pages. Anyone care to summarise how we did? I'm guessing we didn't win? Ta.

We held out heroically until Anderson fell two balls from the end.

    Darren?

I'm guessing Roy said we played well and were unlucky?

Also guessing the kids didn't live up to the hype?

Costa Rica on the beach, holding us at arm's length...our commenators refusing to state the obvious that we fluffed opening after opening due to lack of focus and skill.

That Adrian Chiles even suggested at half time that there was cause for optimism in the 1st half
What a joke it was drab at best.
I also fully expect us to be in exactly the same situation in a dozen years maybe a lot longer

Collectively we are tactically naive and ignorant.

Other countries vary the pace at will, change formations during the game, retain it far better etc.

Our players look ragged, unprepared mentally and unable to interpret what's going on around them to be able to combat it.

The worst thing is Hodgsons just been on the telly saying he thinks the criticism is harsh

He's right in that there were some young inexperienced larkers out there who have never played at that level- they don't deserve to carry the can for the failures of others in the previous 2 games.

While not thinking that we should always be changing managers he's now had two full tournaments and not once has he had a plan B when things aren't working

How the hell Hodgson can say that he thought we showed everyone what a good team we are is beyond me,we were once again poor, lacked any creativity or urgency going forward. We were even passing backwards and taking throw ins backward at every opportunity for no apparent reason.Costa Rica never tried and had no need to.

Yet he still ran rings around our midfield.

We have no chance with Hodgson, Costa Rica didn't even bother turning up and we still couldn't beat them. Regarding my comments on Suarez before I got way-laid by a couple of the forum bumpkins, the point I was trying to make is that he has serious underlying issues, anybody with those mental health problems needs proper treatment not just a massive ban where he comes back just the same. He's bit three players and he needs to get some actual treatment, I'm not a health professional but he has some sort of disorder that needs addressing.

A fancy dummy is hardly running rings around us. Did he touch the ball at all?

Encouraging display from our fans today.

Although still an ugly moronic facepainter element, the vocal backing was loud and defiant.

Has any other losing team had support (in the true sense of the word) like that ?

No. They scuttle away and behave like turds.

Good to see the Sheffield oompah loompah band not there and avoiding a musical humiliation.
