I thought we would probably spend 1-3 million, but if (?) we're offering nearly 3 million for 1 player then our budget must be at least 5 million. The problem is that we want the best and so does everyone else..still the big spenders can't buy them all.
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...2-8m-offer-for-Billy-Sharp-article752242.html just states that the mirror reckon we were the team with a £2.8m bid rejected.

I think if we could get him for £3m it wouldn't be a bad deal especially if sharp scores15+ like he did this season. Heard rumour that were after seberovic from fiorentina on season long loan.
The Echo are now posting it as a news story: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/9106056.Saints_target_striker_Sharp/?ref=rss
I agree Fran. How can a club that owed £120 million even afford the £400k AND wages for Pearce from Bournemouth? They are also being linked with £750k bid for Varney! Don't get me wrong, I would not want either player but the businesses that are owed money by the club must be wondering how this is allowed to happen!
Do people not think that 3 million for a striker who didn't make it at Sheffield United is a bit over the top? Especially considering how much Swansea paid for Graham from Watford.
