At some point we all must of had a situation where the mrs makes you choose between her or a game you were planning to see? My mrs is usually pretty good with me following the lads, but now and again she will arrange something with family ect and I'll have to miss the game.. Who are the lads like me that conceed defeat. And who are the lads that simply don't listen and will go to any game regardless of the nagging? If so how do you get away with it.. Just a bit of fun this thread that's all.
i havnt missed one yet because of her, shes tried and said ahhh its only one game, but then i say well this has been planned for well in advance, and ive paid for it already normally works, still get abit of agro but nothing that isnt worth seeing the lads for!
Never had a problem with the other half re safc, mainly because she takes the piss, her saying you can go and watch a lesser team anytime darling, she's an arsenal supporter.
My lass is from a very football involved family, her dad & 2 brothers, so I've never had a problem like. She does sometimes say 'I thought we could do X/Y/Z' on a Saturday, and if we are away, sometimes I might. But if I say the words 'footy day' she's sound, and on the phone to someone else to make plans. She knows the craic like.
So long as I let her know when the football is so that she can make other plans, all usually works out well. Dunno about you lads but I'm finding that I'm spending too much time with her at present due to close season. Football does act as a good excuse to go solo for a day...
World Cups on mate, she's relegated to the bedroom/kitchen. I'm assuming she's still around somewhere like
Boxing Day is seen by many as a 'family day'. For football fans, it's one of THE games of the year, when at home. Had some great away days too ind, notably Bradford & Superkev hat-trick. Ahhh, memories...
