Very impressed with Reza. Speed, strength, skill and amazing stamina.

Will we ever see it at the Valley? Doubt it. If he can put a remotely similar performance in their third game will probably earn himself a loan or permanent.

Only fault was he should have tried more crosses. One might have flown straight in.

Had to laugh at the commentator. "Many of the Iranians have their Christian names on the back of their shirts".

David Moyes really must have been a clown, because Felliani, Evra and van Persie have all looked different players at the World Cup.

There is no stand out team this time.

Brazil and Germany have defensive frailties (Mertesresacker and David Luiz...)

Argentina are woefully reliant on Messi

Holland are not great at the back, either.

France could be the dark horses.

Having read that FIFA has imposed a zero tolerance attitude towards racism, surely Blatter must now throw the book at Benoit Assou Ekkotu, who has managed to insult a whole nation.

Asked why he has chosen to play for Cameroon rather then France, B.E.A replied

" because when you lose in France, it is always the Black's fault"

    Yes, really.

Gordon Strachan is currently is being tortured alive by itv, they have only stuck him on the cocabana beach and the wee fella is turning blood red and I can smell his skin burning from here.
Run Gordon, stay out of the light, go into the dark before it's too late.......

Good story in the Sunday Times today about FIFA's top executives awarding themselves a 100% pay rise, payable into Swiss bank accounts so that it can be withdrawn in lump sums to avoid paying tax.
This is excellent investigative journalism which shows how the lavish excesses of FIFA have been at the expense of football development. It also shows conclusively how The Dear Blatter manages to keep the support of the executive committee. FIFA of course refuses to comment and no doubt they have got away with it for so long that they have become complacent. Well, I'm not so sure now.

    They're a non-profit.

What else are they supposed to do with all those millions in the bank?

Chile vs Brazil will be some game. They managed to rest a few players yesterday - and the argument pre tournament was that they lacked depth. But their starting 11 and the way they set up will cause Brazil problems at the back.

That said, Neymar will fancy his chances against a converted central defender in Gary Medel.

Where I live has changed the way I read/hear things.

My first reaction to Vol's post was 'Rangers aren't in the World Cup'

When anyone talks about United having a bad season, I think '... but they made the Cup final'

Just watched the England game in the pub. Reaction from fans watching a mixture of laughter and anger. The whole squad are a bunch of p1ss takers.

I think that accident has already happened - someone decided to pay 50 million for him.

FHB, I think the next time we hear that will be in early 2015. More like this tho.

Thuram miskicks to Van Plop, He blindly kicks the ball forward towards the Birmingham box, it hits Van Dyke on the back of the head, falling neatly into the path of Goochisomething, who shoots and GGooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaalllllllllll Bob Peters, Cornish Pastie goes flying...

I know Benzema is a Charlton fan but he seems to be hitting every shot straight at the goalie. Will have to do better to replace Church.
