Can I assume from your username that you live close to me in Qualicum Beach. As a new poster I urge you to fill in your profile and, if you do live in the land of the world famous bar (that will get them guessing), perhaps we might get together and talk Bristol City.
Mike, nothing is sacred anymore. There are plenty of internet pages about Nanaimo so those of us who are nosey will soon know more than someone who lives there.
Who the hell came up with the www while I was sleeping? Still on a positive note the entire globe now knows about the great things happening at Ashton Gate.
I googled both destinations They both look ok. I would say they were a cross between Torquay and Blackpool... Only joking Mike, beautiful scenery and serenity by the looks of things.
At least you didn't add Burnham-on-Mud to the scenario. Oops just slagged off where I spent my entire youth down on the levels.
Some of the shots are breathtakingly beautiful around Nanaimo Harbour. They look a bit like some of the places I've been around Mystic River in Connecticut but much nicer.
The ocean views around the entire island are spectacular and last night Ann and I walked down to our local beach to watch the "Star Princess" on it's way to Alaska. Lots of cruises pass within 3 to 5 miles of our local shoreline but the most spectacular views are out on the Pacific coast at Tofino and Uclulet where you can see the rollers coming in on Pacific Rim Beach. Lovely views and we are so happy to have finally been able to move to this paradise.
Hope you continue enjoying your paradise for many many years. We had one in Central Portugal but what with a young granddaughter and lack of social life, we have moved back to North-east Somerset. Miss the weather and low priced red wine, but more content now. And Ashton Gate is only an hour by train.
Hi Mike, Its actually Lantzville now but close enough to the 'bar'! I don't drink so rarely indulge ;-) (trying to through them off the sent!). Yes me must meet up at some point and have a chat about all things Red and White.
I had a very short trip up to British Columbia, including Victoria and Nanaimo at the end of February, and the area around Nanaimo is beautiful indeed. Mind you, most places are beautiful compared to the Chicago suburbs!
Thanks NanaimoRed and I have sent you a private message so I hope to hear from you. WindyCity, I'm glad you enjoyed your short trip out here and if you are near this way again then send me a message.
Not convinced that my private message went through but you can still set up a time and date for a meeting on the regular forum, or try and send me a private message and you might have better luck.
