My Dad was born in Southsea, but was moved to Southampton after three days! I was born about three yards from where I am sitting, 66 years ago, Southampton born, Southampton bred, preferred the Dell to a falling down shed.
Born in the US, grew up in England between the ages of 6-19 and have now been in Scotland for 6 years. English mother, Scottish father and a pretty strange accent. I'd identify myself as English first, then Scottish and only American at a very vague push. But hey, at least I have a legitimate reason to support a team who haven't been knocked out the World Cup yet
You must sound a little bit like Andy Murray then.....Yeah, I hope the Yanks have a good tournament, they are always refreshingly open in their play, so different to England...
I was born in the US, lived there for 3 years. Lived ever since (pretty much) for 26 years in England. Dad's American, Mum's English. I have American and British passports. I don't know what the exact ratio is but I see myself as 50/50. However, the cultural influence of living in England for the majority means I'd identify myself as English first!
Christ.. I hope not! They've got a bastard of a group but I could see them sneaking a result against Portugal. If not I'll just support whichever Saints players are remaining (probably just Morgan).
Born in Isleworth so nearest Football League would probably be Brentford. Moved with my parents to Fareham when I was six, so adopted both Southampton and Pompey ever since. Is that allowed? As the two teams rarely play each other, there isn't really a conflict of interest!!! Now that I am in Mallorca, I have developed a liking for Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao!! And in Argentina it is River Plate where I spent six months in 2007!!
And in the World Cup I have a liking for all the Spanish speaking nations, and USA so I really hope one of the lesser teams, like Chile goes a really long way in the competition.
If it's which hospital I was born in, I'd be slightly closer to Hibernian than Heart of Midlothian. If it's where did I live in my formative years (until about 7) it'd be slightly closer to Heart of Midlothian than Hibernian. Either way, thank god my dad is Southampton through and through because Scottish football is pish.
Born in Portsmouth - adopted to a family in Southampton when 6 months old - my adopted mothers brother married my blood mothers sister - yikes !!!
Born in Soton, grew up in Romsey went to watch both play when I wasn't. Went to uni in Portsmouth and had five-a-side teams called Spartak Southsea and Milton Moenchengladbach (the last one was just to see the Pompey refs struggle with the spelling and pronunciation!).
