He's just been on SSN whereupon he named his England team for the future.

He had Glen Johnson and Chris Smalling in the back four.

No wonder he can't get a job these days, looks like he's lost the plot.

I think that we need a Probables Vs Possibles match over the summer.

    Seriously.

It might show Woy what he is missing, when the likes of Huddlestone orchestrates the ripping apart of that which he laughable terms 'his first choice back four' or when the likes of Davies has the creme of England's strike force in their pockets.

We missed someone like Huddlestone, he would have dictated play in midfield, like Pirlo did for Italy.

Wasn't that what Gerrard was supposed to do?

To be fair, Gerrard is better than Huddlestone.

It's not just one person who can pass it, we've got to fit them into a working system & ours didn't work.

It was, but he didn't. Gerrard is overrated. He will make one good pass in a game which results in Hansen and Lawrenson making their pants sticky.

But we dictated the play fine. Why is everyone ignoring that? Possession was clearly not a problem for us.

Playing the ball square and backwards across the back four does not dictate play., it gives good possession statistics, but when an incisive pass was required we were not able to produce it.

We never dictated the play, we were just allowed to keep possession of the ball in our own half, we dictated **** all, that's why we're about to lose our third game in a row.

Disagree, we're blatantly going to beat Costa Rica, once more fuelling the idiotic fires of potential world beaterdom, followed by a media circus about how bright the future is with our youngsters having beaten a team with a population of 4m ranked 28th in the world, guaranteeing Hodgson another 2 ****ing years and us another 2 years of the same ****. The rest is right though.

I don't think that's what happened at all. We had the ball in their half for long periods, but they had a full team behind it and we couldn't get in behind them. It was a lack of creativity, but you can't say we didn't dictate the play when we had 68% possession.

Yes we lost, yes we weren't good enough, but that doesn't mean we can't pass, didn't keep the ball well enough or didn't dictate the play.

If you can't defend the simple stuff or score sitters, you don't win matches no matter how much possession you have!

Henderson and Gerrard didn't make any passes that broke the defensive line in both games, they just made sideways passes and relied on Sterling's skill and Welbeck's pace to go forward. Gerrard can't make a pass without adjusting himself, Huddlestone can.

Agreed to a point, But So glad now that Woy did not pick Davies and Huddlestone. They wont be tainted over this summers shambles.

You obviously were not paying attention then if you think ^^^^ this.

I rest my case on the Ashley Cole v Leighton Baines issue and as for Phil Jagielka, well he can join Chris Smalling in the out house now.

With the 2016 euro qualifiers starting in sept against very average teams at best we may as well start with a back line of this : - Flanagan - Stones - Cahill - Shaw. They have 2 years to form an understanding.

Exactly, we might as well call up players like Liam Moore, John Stones, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse. Give these players 2 years to get acquainted with each other and we'll be a pretty good team for the Euros in 2016. They are young but 2 years experience together would make a promising team.
