Listen you daft lad, don't you remember that the Allams promised to consult the fans, all fans, that is, over the club badge. They havnt done that because they say there wasn't time. Well, given the current anti feelings over Allams public rantings and his continued name change stupidity, don't you think that it would have been better to have left the badge as it was until there was time to carry out their promise. IE have the new shirt with the badge on it as it was and then consult next summer. I don't know about you, but if I make a promise I do my utmost to carry it out or I don't make a promise in the first place. Just as a rider I think you are also conveniently forgetting that Allam made promises to CTWD at that one and only meeting. Within two weeks he broke a couple of the promises he made. There is form you know, if you care to open your blinkered eyes.
Your opinion, but I am a member and they acted on my behalf. Have we had a name change? NO. And do you know why? Quite simply that CTWD put forward a very professional opinion to both the FA and the Prem as to why there should not be a name change. They listened very carefully and after due consideration voted against it. That's just how professional these people have been. A lesson could be learned by Allam from this. It may be his club and he will do what he wants, or so he thinks he will, but he hasn't has he. He may well be the owner, but we fans will be here long after he has done one, he is after all only the custodian until such time as he leaves.
I wish Hullcityafc would do one , Over time ive asked a few questions about the CTWD group , im not a hater or anything , i just want to know this n that , i ask , i get a reply , but sometimes i feel like i may be bundled into the **** brigade with Him and his mate Grumpy ! Im pretty sure they are on the wind up
They paid their money, the club to the best of my knowledge haven't consulted the fans on previous badge changes, get over it! The Hull City world will never offer utopia to all fans, never has, never will. Allam doesn't do himself any favours on occasions I accept, but he's doing more good then harm in my personal opinion.
Obi said a few pages ago that PL rules state that fans should be consulted on major changes and in his opinion changing a club badge is a major change. How many clubs have changed their badges in the PL since it began and how many (excluding Everton and West Ham) have consulted their fans, Everton after fans' protests? Also "major changes" is rather a meaningless phrase, like "consultation", as it is up to some panel/personage in the PL to decide on what that definition means - not Obi, Happy Tiger, Mostynthecat or any of us on this board, which is why the PL will not take any action for a "failure to consult on the changing of the club badge of one of our members" or however they would phrase it. And agree with Cheshireles, whatever any consultation would have decided - some fans would have been against the final decision, as some of us are never happy with everything at the club (signings/managerial and backroom appointments/merchandise/etc etc) from day one to the final day
There are many who, have posted that they have no problem with the badge, I don't have a problem with Hull City Tigers either, what I have a problem with is the fact that promises have been broken by someone who made a great play on the value of his word.
The season hasn't even started and already I'm fed up with the bickering over the name. Has it not occured to some people that this argument may well be putting some possible new signings off joining us? If they have the slightest doubt as to whether to come to us or not, then this would certainly put them off. I hate the badge, I hate what is happening to the Club, BUT I would rather see us playing in the Premier League than in the Conference which is what could happen if the Allams were to walk away. Sorry, but that's just how I see it.
I suggest you stop on hanging on old man Allams every word, he's displayed that he's either forgetful or just says something to appease fans at the time without any intention of doing it. He's not football man (by his own admission), he's a business man and has an enviable record at business so clearly brings something to the party apart from deep pockets. In overall terms his positive contribution to Hull City of recent years more than offsets his deficiencies, most of which could be simply overcome by effective PR and some half decent corporate and marketing strategy!
Firstly it was Ehab who said the club would consult. Secondly, I have hardly been an Assem Allam knocker in the past. Assem Allam set his own standard and that was along the lines of trust me I never go back one my word. He has and any rational person would have to agree that once he has broken his word, everything else he says is devalued. This is not some little spat about a badge, it is a fundamental principle of business and life in general, if you emphasise something so strongly as Assem Allam has and then do the opposite, you are open to criticism.
The bickering over the name change? It's a sideshow for players. They would place it below the choice of food available at the training ground. But an owner who goes back on his word, now that could affect players perception of the club. Look at the problems that Tan caused at Cardiff. Nothing to do with the fans, everything to do with trust.
Totally agree, I hate the way the Allam's are running the club and seemingly wanting to destroy Hull City and make the club into their image, but I would rather suffer the changes and be where we are now in the Premier League and about to play in the Europa League. Hate the Allam's or not, if not for them Hull City was in serious trouble as a business and we might not have been here today to have this pointless argument
We've had problems with Skpe in our committee meetings, when there were just a couple of people involved, I don't think it's practical for us to do it on a large scale.
changed it slightly, but we were screwed financially at the time, what would have happened if they had not come in and bought the club
So it's the premier league football that attracts you. And Allam can treat you as badly as he likes,as long as he gives you that ? Do i need to tell you what you are ?
