They objected to being called "the tigers" which the badge used to say but doesn't anymore. Many other clubs' crests do not include the name. Please enlighten me.
I think it looks great to be honest. Traditional, simple and distinctive. Also, it's almost identical to their old crest but 'The tigers' has been removed. And their fans are still kicking off! Which makes me think they don't really know what they want. Or enjoy being angry. Or both.
Well I'm sure Hull fans will suspect it to be an attempt to have them commonly known as Hull Tigers even if it's not official.
Their nickname is the Tigers which is shown by the crest. Ours is the Saints, which is hinted at by the halo on the crest. Can't see a problem quite honestly.
What is the problem with the new logo? This is the old one: And the new one actually removes 'The Tigers' from it. Posting it at 5.33am in the morning is unusual, but doesn't mean anything sinister.
I still think it is their own having a bitch. "You didn't let me change your name to tigers so that's change the badge"
Yeah; it isn't a big deal, but it's hard not to suspect that it's the Premier League's first passive-aggressive badge.
So nobody has noticed the twats have removed Hull City A.F.C.? The FA wouldn't let them so they do it this way until the re-apply to change again. Our owner likes to get his own way and he'll do anything to get it. He's supposed to be aiming for the world market but who the ****in the world will know that's Hull City from the new crest.
Yea, that too. It's always been our nickname but our real name is Hull City A.F.C. which is what we wanted to keep. This loony of an owner is slowly chipping away our identity any way he can. Last season was our best ever and was spoiled by the name change fiasco, so what does the loony do, changes the badge without our name before the new season. Just wish he'd sell up and go. Thanks Beefy for the good wishes.
Bit ungrateful. I think he's earned the right to make what he feels is a good business decision for the club. My personal opinion is that the Hull fans have come out looking a lot worse than Hull's owner throughout this 'fiasco'.
If you knew all the ins and outs of it all you might change your opinion. There's too many lies and broken promises to list on here and it'll probably bore you to death.
I was talking about the badge change, but even with our name I wouldn't mind particularly. If it meant we would still have investment, funds and keep Katarina sweet then I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. It's irrelevant anyway because our owner's not mental so it won't happen.
I'm an actions-speak-louder than words kind of person, and from where I'm sat, it looks as though your owner has invested heavily in the club, and got you promoted and safe in the premier league.
Yes he has and every City fans admits that and thanks him for it. But that doesn't give him a mandate to piss about with the Clubs name and history. He's said on tv interviews that what he says he means and he never goes back on it. Last August he said he'd consult with the fans over the badge change, he's never attempted to do so and that's a man who doesn't go back on his word. This is also a man who at different times has called the fans hooligans and we can go and die when we want, charming don't you think?
