ITV lack the fun stuff. I love the BBC's subuteo men clips.

TBF, at least they haven't had a ****wit saying that the one bright spark from the Uruguay defeat was Rooney's performance as Rio just did.

Pundits on ITV have been much better than the beeb this time. I can't listen to Alan Shearer (master of hindsight) or Rio without dropping into a state of stupor, and though the adverts and Childes are annoying its not as formulaic as the bbc

ITV are horrendous - their guests, their intro music ... just everything is a mess.

In Adrian Chiles's defence - he asked a very good question to Lee Dixon last night. 'Pirlo was the difference for Italy. Suarez was the difference for uruguay. Surely you can't keep saying that we're losing to just one play each time?'

Lee Dixon replied - 'I just did'.

And that was it. No real analysis, just an arrogant rebuttal and that was it. The English media are quite clueless when it comes to tactics and real analysis - the same people actually thought we played well against Italy. No - Italy pretty much controlled the game, weren't playing with any pace. We had a couple of good attacks but nothing more.

And the same people thought Rooney was our best player last night? I commend players for being in the right place even if they miss - I reserve this judgement for youth players. Not for experienced professionals who are earning £300k a week.
