Newcastle ‘Favourites’ To Land Enner Valencia

    Earlier today Alan Pardew was quoted as saying Newcastle might have to wait until the end of the World Cup to see where they competed for players, but now United have been linked with Enner Valencia and said to be ‘favourites’ to land him.

    The Ecuador striker scored the consolation for his country in the 2-1 defeat by Switzerland and is almost certain to be in action when Equador face Honduras on Friday.

    Valencia only moved from his native league to the higher rated Mexican league at the beginning of this year but has already scored 18 goals in 23 league appearances, since that Emelec to Pachuca transfer.

    The 24 year old striker has scored 5 times in 11 appearances since stepping up to the Ecuador senior team.

    Reports in South America claim that Spurs and Everton have also shown an interest in the striker but that Newcastle are ‘favourites’ to get him over the line.

    He would be cheap, very low wages and have tremendous resale value. As long as he's not our number 1 striker i'd take him. Very fast as well, like a cheaper waris.

    I'd also like us to enquire about George Thorne from West Brom as I thought he looked great in the playoff final.

    George Thorne would be a terrific signing. If we really meant business, him and Will Hughes would be a real sign of intent.
