RE: Hodgson... measure of the man and manager in his post-match interview 'it's Suarez's second goal that's put us out'.

Not yet Roy, yeah you're going out, but still mathematically possible you'll scrape through.

The England squad features players from only 8 of the Prem teams (1 Scottish), only 6 clubs have had players on the pitch.

Man City, Chelsea & Arsenal supplied 5 and a half (the half being Lampard), only 2 of which have started. That's from 3 of the top 4 clubs this season <yikes> Spurs have None

Clearly something needs to be done at club level if the FA ever want to compete again. But English players are already way over priced and squad rules would only make that worse, might however encourage clubs to use academies better.

Seriously, having joined the bloody throng to change the side to accommodate Wiggy he has to say that, doesn't he? But what is funny, looking around some of tomorrow's sports leaders, is that some of the journos who were clamouring for Rooney to go central are now asking why Woy changed a winning team.

Anyway, for what it's now worth, let's play Barkley, Sterling and Welbeck behind Studge against CR next Tuesday in a FLUID line-up, and Lallana and Henderson behind them. YES, drop the Old Guard for our last game. We don't have a natural DM (or at least we left Barry at home), or maybe we could play Jones next to Gerrard and see if he can do all his defensive work. But I still reckon that had we attacked Uruguay as we did Italy we'd have got four last night, Suarez or no Suarez.

    i am ****ing weird <diva>

the only world class player on the pitch last night and he ripped us a new arse hole.

just have to hope we still have him next season, and ronaldo gets his own sulking way.

England needs a new manager ffs and quickly, why is it we either have decent managers and ****e players to work with, or when we have some talent we employ a ****e manager.

this team we have needs someone like Hoddle not ****ing hodgson.

As usual people have this odd reaction to England losing.

England didn't play their best, however, they created more chances, controlled large portions of the game and were undone by a combination of two defensive lapses and two brilliant goals.

Uruguay only had two shots on target all game but scored them both. The majority of the game, even when they were pressing they were not much of a threat. Much like the Italy game England could have won this and be sitting on 6 points now.

On Rooney, he played well, England fans need to get over club loyalties. Rooney was getting in all the right positions, rarely lost the ball, and got a goal. Johnson was poor, as usual, and Gerrard was hardly great, in fact two of his mistakes led to both Uruguay's goals.

I am a Liverpool supporter and despite thinking Rooney should probably be dropped, he was the best player out there tonight. Henderson played well for the majority of the game while Sterling was crowded out every time he got the ball so had a quiet game.

As for Roy, his tactics were solid enough, he has done a good job for the most part and I think he should stay as England manager until the next World Cup, it is not as if there are any better options.

Why are people trying to claim suarez beat us? Bar getting gifted two goals from his team mate he did nothing.

If it wasnt for someone gifting both goals he would have done nothing.

He capitalised on 2 massive errors. No brilliance involved.

It's simply easier to claim suarez was amazing that state tge truth.

Some useless ****ing tit who has previous for it decided to gift not one but two goals to his club team mate.

Dont think because he plays for your lot he gets away with it. Had it been rooney as you say, he would be crucified.

world class rooney you mean, yeah he would have been crucified lol, lucky he finally scored a goal. how many tournaments <whistle>

i think we have good players rooney included, but we have an awful manager, not a coincidence he had us playing ****e when he was our manager is it.

Luis has only just come back from being out for a month, he had 2 chances and he took them, that's what world class players do, gifted or not gifted them as you put it.

how many chances did rooney want to waste, and he had his goal handed to him on a plate by another liverpool player.

2 england goals in tournament so far, first. sterling to rooney to sturridge - goal, second Sturridge to johnson to rooney - goal.

also your denial to credit luis with anything is laughable, sure tobes will be along soon to back you up on that, yet if other way round and we don't credit you lot, its bitterness <laugh>

we have a **** manager and gerrard probably shouldn't be playing for england, we sort those 2 things out sharprish and we might get somewhere one day.

    'gifting'... Both goals were brilliant.

Cavani's dummy and cross + Suarez peeling away from Jagielka; then Suarez having the awareness to go goalside of Jagielka again and give an incredible finish (injured in process too).

Yes both moves started with Gerrard, but the English defence (Jag in particular) were made to look average by Suarez's individual brilliance.

Today there's no point... Uir is just talking total bollox cos he's really so angry Suarez scored two. The fact he wishes to blame Gerrard for both goals says it all, no brio lance? Cavani played a great cross right on Suarez head and Suarez did jagielka but uir won't admit it

The second was again typical Suarez as sturridge in that situation would be asleep. He was alive, onside via jagielka being badly positioned and the sprinted in controlled and smashed it home

The fact is me welbeck and me sturridge can only dream of being so average ;)

I don't agree that there was no brilliance in Suarez finishes, as there was - they were clinical

However, the rest of your point is bang on. Gerrard was ****ing abysmal last night, yet another lead legged ****ing shocker from him and yet he's been somehow undroppable, not only to start games, but immune to substitution as well it seems.

As last night he offered nothing and should have been hooked well before he couldn't get his divers boots off the turf to get a decent head on that hopeful punt up the pitch.

    Meh.
