possible players we might sign players that might be persuaded to stay and players we might offload.

    in's
    Vergil van dijk pos: cb
info: koeman has been very impressed by this guy and tried to persuade van Gaal to take him to the world cup
would be a great addition especially if dejan does leave. approximate value: 8.5 million

    pelle pos: st
info: played under koeman at feynored a bit of a hot head but has scored 50 goals in 57 games in 2 seasons a great goal scorer and replacement for rickie?
    approximate value 12 million

    jermain lens pos: winger
info: apparently been in for him in the past a pacey skilful winger another Dutchman! would be a very good player and we do need a right winger
    approximate value:9 million

    Danny ings pos: st
info: young English pace striker prepared to run in behind the back four great player Burnley board very stubborn wont come cheep!
    approximate value 10 million

    Javier hernandez pos: st
a clinical finisher/poacher premier league experience with united a premier league title scored some vital goals for the red devils wants to leave to find first team football pacey aswell just what we need.
approximate value 14.5 million/ maybe could be done in a deal where we get cash plus him for Shaw.

    now staying???

Adam Lallana might now be convinced to stay due to a appointment of a high calibre manager also if the board do splash some cash and bring in some new quality. Might show some ambition that convinces him to stay.

Luke Shaw although he is a great left back and quality player I think if we get 27 million for him I would take It 27 million for a 18 year old left back and although he is class he didn't win us any games last season if we sell him we could bring in a lot of quality with that money and a easy replacement matt target of aron Creswell from Ipswich.

    What Do You Think???

I suppose it's because we have a Dutch manager now, who has just been managing in the Netherlands, so it's only natural that people think he may want to bring in Dutch recruits. And to be fair, only 2/5 players mentioned in the post are Dutch!

Or are you referring to the actual Dutch Revolt?!

On another note, welcome to the forum Oli and phil!

Even this week's MotoGP race is the Dutch TT from Assen. It's uncanny. Or are we all thinking Double Dutch..?

It's hardly a Dutch revolution - only a couple in the list and is hardly surprising considering where the manager comes from.

And if they add quality who are we to argue...

I don't. I think we might see one come in but that's about it. But the OP was putting options up as I saw it. We would not want them all. Understandably, Koeman will know them well so its less of a risk.

Having seen Hernandez in the World Cup though, I'm not sure he is worth the hype.

The one missing from the original list is Lovren who I have now written off as a sale abroad.

The way he plays for club is completely different from the way he plays for country. DM for Cardiff, CB for Chile. He wouldn't get into our team at DM, and I wouldn't want a player under 6ft at CB, regardless of how well he does most of the time for Chile. Cahill's goal against them was a direct result of their lack of height at the back.

One thing I think we've overlooked is that Ronald Koeman's teams tend to play 5-3-2. That was the same formation Holland used to beat Spain 5-1. It would indicate we would need to have 3 centre backs. Not sure how that affects Vic's deep lying mid-field role, but if Lovren does go we would probably need 2 more CB's. Van Dijk looks perfect to me as one of 3 CB's.

    I don't think he does. It's looked like a 4-3-3/4-5-1 when I've seen them.

I agree about the centre half comment, but he could do a job for us as defence midfielder if one of our current players leave, which is very possible.

4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 from what I have seen.

Have a look through Feyenoord's matches on Whoscored, they have formations for every game and almost all of them are in a 4-3-3 shape. A couple of 5-3-2 but the vast majority have four at the back. http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/256/Show/Netherlands-Feyenoord
