Tottenham line up shock £3m bid for John O'Shea of Sunderland Spurs keen to find a new centre-back with captain Michael Dawson free to leave this summer, and John O'Shea appeals as someone who can go straight into the team Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a shock cut-price bid for Sunderland central defender John OâShea. With captain Michael Dawson free to leave White Hart Lane this summer, Spurs are looking for a new centre back who could slot straight into the first team. OâShea only has a year remaining on his Sunderland contract and Tottenham are ready to test the Black Catsâ resolve to keep the 33-year-old with a bid of around £3million. Sunderland have had a £4m offer for Swansea defender Ashley Williams rejected and must now decide whether to go back with an improved bid. Despite fighting relegation and falling out with former manager Paolo Di Canio, OâShea was one of Sunderlandâs best players over the second half of last season. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...hock-3m-bid-for-John-OShea-of-Sunderland.html
Yes! This. A thousand times this! 'O'Shea was one of Sunderlands best players' ****ing libelous that, and shows how much attention the press pay. He was ok, and only that, in the last 6.
Whilst that is and would be fine for me - Dawson is a free agent and JOS is still under contract.... So a straight swap is no good as Dawson is free! They can pay us £3m and we'll have Dawson - that would, IMO, be the coup of the summer

Ah - I thought the "Free to leave" meant he was out of contract! (Didn;'t look into it really) - Still - Getting Dawson and half a million for O'Shea would be some deal IMO
i would snap their hand off for it. he was decent for the end of the season but he was **** before that. for me signings like o'shea have been whats wrong with our transfer policy. we need to stop buying these past the prime players and get some quality who are in their prime
If thats true then see ya later captain calamity. Put the money toward getting Ashley Williams in. Dawson although good is too injury prone to pair with injury prone Brown for me. Would need two very capable back ups
