With a big rebuilding job ahead, shouldn't gus be prioritising signing quality players rather than presenting at the World Cup? I know we have our DOF, but any player signing would want to speak to the manger first surely? It's a strange one because I don't think there are any other premier league managers doing the same as gus.
I agree! I'm surprised he's there to be honest, though I suppose he could be doing a bit of scouting or making direct contact with players on the sly!

Poyet is probably in the best place possible. Congerton will have a list of targets he will be working on at home whilst Poyet will be scouting for new recruits in Brazil. I'd expect most agents will be there too, touting some business for their clients. It will be like Jackie White's with all the business going on.
A good question, just hope that he enjoys it and comes back refreshed and ready to face another death trap of a fixture list (thanks whoever you are who makes this totally inballanced annual hurdle ), ie. the three promoted teams away + all the big guns (ex Liverpool) at home before Xmas.
