Who cares, if he signs for us I am looking forward to seeing him. He seems a class above what we brought in January.

There are things to get excited about, but I'm also going to greet this signing with caution.

Pro - he had a very good season last year, better than a goal every 3 games.

Con - the standard of defending in those clips look league one at best.

Pro - Copenhagen fans give a glowing report.

Con - Copenhagen have cashed in due to the signing of Steve De Ridder. The same player who bombed at several clubs in England.

Pro - champions league experience, even if it was 4 minutes against Real Madrid.

Con - it's rumored to be a seven figure sum. I hope that isn't the majority of the pot, but the January sales money.

"Charlton sign Champions League Striker" (4 mins worth)

    Michael Ricketts had england caps.

until proven otherwise, i'm looking at this one as peeters bringing in "his" own players. the CP ones are being discarded

He is 5.8 I looked at his profile on wiki and I kept thinking "whoa ya talkin bout willis" apparently the article says "in June 2014 he completed his dream move- to Charlton Athletic" who on earth writes that nonsense.

I suppose, yes during the most horrifying moments of the Angolan conflict , it is just possible he turned around and said "my dream is to play for Charlton"

The big pro for me is that he worked with Peeters at Cercle Brugge, for I think one of the good seasons there.

Didn't think much of the youtube clip I saw. I would have thought FCK would be a cut above the average top tier Danish side.

Igor Vetokele - just one question......... You ask one question and get answers for everything bar the question...

I don't suppose we'll ever find out, the answer might incriminate him during subsequent deals...

To answer my own question then...."quite a lot, I imagine" <cheers>

Hugely underwhelming transfer. If the 5'8 Angolan is any good don't bother getting Igor printed on the back of your shirt, he won't be staying long.

If there was a £1.1m transfer fee for Igor (strokes chin suspiciously...), how come we only offered Chris O'Grady 5k a week ?

What wage has Vetokele been offered?

Disappointed that this is another "fee agreed" story. Why can't they wait until the player signs the deal?

Been thinking about it. The only upside I can see for the club in announcing this early is to force the hand of other potential signings, ie 'if you're not taking the offer we're making now, we can just move on to someone else' OR 'we have lots of exciting players coming in, join us'.

According to CL, danish wages are well below the championship. A good player in denmark might earn 1000 pounds a week. This youngster is probably on less, so his dresm move is probably for much less than 5000 pw, but an increase for him.
    Just guessing.....

I think all the numbers on this thread are guesses, apart from maybe his height.

Is he as good as our last great Dane, the legendary Martin Christensen?

Anyone know if 5'8 Angolan strikers have a history of success in the Championship?

That's right there's always a first... I had never known of any Ivory Coast strikers having success in the Premier, but it happened...

The bloke had a load of underage caps for Belgium. Anyone know if Belgian underage structures are any good?

    He'll probably sign for Barnsley
