Brazil cheated their way past the first game aided by, to put it generously, a malleable referee (the Marcelo dive at the end must have made the Japanese ref feel a right ****)

This time they couldn’t break down a hard working Mexico, when they did, every shot on target was straight at the keeper.

The only way to genuinely save this Brazilian team would be to sack Scolari – obviously never going to happen mid tournament.

I fear that with home advantage, they’re gonna bundle their way to the final.

Let’s hope Spain or Holland smash them to bits in Round 2 and leave the competition to the real football teams.

Although the keeper played and had good positioning well most of the efforts were straight at him, I would have been disappointed if Greegsy had conceded any of those

And the Rivaldo Award for being an utter cheating bastard at a World Cup goes to.......Marcelo.

    Pathetic.

Great start to the World Cup for 3 of the 4 CONCACAF nations.

How Mexico trailed in well behind Honduras in qualifying is beyond me.

Mexico was god awful thats why. They only even qualified because Zusi scored a goal and they got into the playoff. They were so freaking terrible that they have had like 4 coaches in the last year. It was like a revolving door of their coach being fired.

Shows what a mess they were when we see the heights they can hit now. Honduras don't look capable of anything other than kicking the opposition into next week, meanwhile.

What is it with the Neymar worship? He can't pass to save his life - which is perhaps why he concentrates instead on simply keeping the ball until he loses it. Other than a good turn of pace, I don't see much.

He does at least seem to stay on his feet better than a couple of years ago, mind.

Really?! I've noticed above anything else that he's always going over and writhing in agony. It took him about 20 seconds in that game before he was rolling about. It's cringeworthy.

Think Neymar is having a bad hair tournament.

Looks like he's a Spiders barman from 1984.

Roaring like a bain at their anthem, then proceeded to play crap, save the last few minutes.

Pele would have him on Tostao.
