They said the US has the most traveling support which is 20,000 people. Those 20,000 have already purchased 150,000 tickets.
Interesting how the fans of non-football nations are outnumbering the traditional football countries quite significantly.
I heard Mexico took 10k to their last game, it was around the same numbers for both Uruguay and Costa Rica too.
Australia have qualified for the last 3, the USA have been ever present for 20 years, if it was just a novelty it would have worn off by now.
Interesting how much closer the non football nations are to Brazil and how much easier/cheaper it is for them to get there.
861,590 supporters attend Fan Fest around Brazil in first five days. Expected to pass 1million tonight. FIFA stadium figures: 98% capacity over 14 World Cup games. Highest - Argentina v Bosnia (100%). Lowest - Spain v Netherlands (92.8%). Source: Bryan Swanson
From what I have heard. Argentina: Around 50,000 Chile: 32,000 Colombia: Around 30,000 England: 10,000 USA: 20-25,000 Cameroon, Italy, Nigeria etc brought very few <1000 Quite a few south american teams brought quite a few fans who did not get tickets and watched it on screens in brazil.
Its not like a group of season ticket holders haven't turned up as with Man United, surely almost 100% of the tickets sold will be used. Perhaps the empty seats are corporate tickets given to sponsors and not used?
Latest ticket sales: Brasil 1.395.886; USA 198.208; Argentina 61.477; GER 58.983; ENG 58.105 Colômbia 55.497; Austrália 52.313
Good to see that we're up there with the Germans as the top supporters outside of the land-connected teams from the American continents.
12,000 there from Australia. Amazing that a country where rugby league gets bigger crowds brought so few to the Rugby League world cup in comparison.
