A good combo then, nice guy and approachable off the field but won't take any **** from the players and gets his point of view across. Maybe he can even 'wipe' the slate clean with a few of the want-away players.

Is it optimistic to say he could give a certain piratical Argie/Eyetalian a chance?

Well said nutter won't take him on physically I'd wager. Get the feeling there's too many bridges burnt there though. Who knows. Up to the nutter really.

Probably right. If Juve or someone else doesn't bite then he could be showing his face again. He's going to be the third manager to tackle the Gaston conundrum as well. Good luck.

He joined us at the club when we lost MoPo
He has ruddy skin and seems like he might be a showman
    Es-h-o-doubleyew - showman
He appeared on a boat and he tweeted a pic
We asked who he was and in a Dutch accent he said I'm Koeman
    Kay-oh-em-ay-en Koeman Ko-ko-ko-ko-Koeman

I remember when Strachan left thinking it wasn't that big a deal, as the side looked pretty good and how much difference can it make? Then after Wigley left I thought well, that's about as bad as a manager can be. We should be okay now...

Since then, I'm always nervous whenever there is a managerial switch. You just never know. That said, Koeman seems to be a solid, if not great choice on the surface and that's all we really have to go by so I'm pleased with the selection, if still very nervous.

It could even be a fun idea to promote some sort of 'Orange Day' at the first home/away game of the season. Make the new boys feel at home.

For those of you that don't remember Koeman was some player and when he hit a ball it stayed hit! great goal scoring record as well for his position.

Do you think when we play Schpuds that he'll have a banner for MP saying, "The Malvinas are British" then?

This is the biggest managerial appointment in the clubs history. I can't think of a more impressive appointment for us. Hoddle was good as a former England Manager, but his reputation was in the mud.

I appreciate where you're coming from in that it's right to be cautious about any managerial appointment and it could go wrong, but the board have made the best appointment possible in our current circumstances. Unlike the aforementioned Wigley, this is not the cheap option which has been the undoing of our club in recent times.

We needed a big name to try and keep those players who are considering offers from elsewhere and Koeman stands a better chance than most of keeping them.

Woke this morning with a feeling of calm and quiet confidence. Ship steadied and what with the assurances about reinvestment should players be sold, we should be looking forward with confidence.
Probably no signings until our targets return from their World Cup duty though......:)

May go quiet for two or three weeks whilst the new guys suss out what they think we need and who they want to keep. Will be interesting to hear what Adam/ Luke/Dejan think of the new appointment.
