A day late guys but got good reason for that, yes i stayed up till ****ing 3am to watch an England side if been tactically prepared would have won. Baines was over run by two Italians cos Rooney did not track back, hence two goals from that area. Johnson, plain one this, he is ****ing useless. Gerrard, see the interview after the match, the **** had not broke sweat, hope he gets crocked in training and lets the young uns in, plus a very poor Captain as he is the manager on the field and should have spotted the Italians stretching Baines and have him supported, or that useless **** Hodgson stand in the technical area and switch it around, but no sat in the dug out........just too ****ing old. Pirlo, oldest man on the field and run the show, anyone heard of picking him up then Italy does not play??????? Hodgson......easy one, that he is too ****ing old, no new ideas, a FA puppet or should i say Muppet Another good showing from the England fans, pity we do not have a team to match, but one thing FIFA got right was to ban that ****ing silly band that follows England around.
I wasn't able to finish watching the game last night ugh and unfortunately I can't see the replay on youtube
I don't understand the criticism of Gerrard. Think he played OK without anything amazing, and a couple spectacularly hit long passes although I wouldn't say thats all he did either as he moved the ball around similarly to how he has done for Liverpool, difference was we didn't have the same style of movement in front of him as Liverpool do. I actually don't think we have another player of his quality capable of playing the position he plays for us and we will struggle to replace him. I also see everyone complimented Pirlo as if he put in the best performance of his life. I thought while he had the ball plenty of the time, he was rarely dangerous with it and caused us few defensive problems, I've always been happy for the opposition to have the ball if they are doing that. The first goal was a good piece of football by Pirlo but other than that don't get all the raving about him, good player but old now and he was a complete liability for them when they didn't have the ball. In fact a lot of his passes were misplaced as well considering his quality.
I wish this lot out here would stop showing different England games to us as the ones you are receiving in UK, Gerrard did **** all, how many shots did he have? a good captain would have spotted that Pirlo was dictating things and had him picked up, or that old timer we have as an excuse as a manager on the bench to sort it, as i said earlier, we had the players to open Italy apart up front and players on the bench to sort them out in midfield, tactically we got it all wrong. There second goal, Cahill lost that arrogant ex citeh prick and Johnson was still jogging back from another stray ****ing pass.
We did actually play some nice football, in parts. But I agree with Josh and Doha's comments here particularly about Pirlo and Gerrard (More Doha's Gerrard comments though, not totally agreeing with Josh! ). Pirlo is Italy's engine room in possession, no doubt about it, but he gets talked up because of pass stats and things which often cloud peoples memory. I could make a 70% of the passes if they are to someone standing 3 feet away That's not to say he doesn't play some amazing incisive through balls or wondrous long passes at times (his free kick was damned unlucky for example) He is awful defensively though, just quite happy for a runner to stroll right by him with the ball and depend on De Rossi (dirty, dirty player) dropping in behind and helping the defence out. Not exactly the best quality in a deep lying defender. Then you look at "our Pirlo" Gerrard (). He tries to play the same roll, and occasionally picks out a stunning pass, but loses possession far too easily with his Hollywood long balls that go out of play or straight to the other team. I really felt like we were carrying him at times. Particularly as Hodgson insists on finding a roll for Rooney, even if it is on the left wing where he was appalling, and offered no defensive cover. In those situations Gerrard has to pull a bit wider and give Baines some help, which he simply didn't do and the Italians had a lot of fun exploiting the clear weakness down that side. But I'd put more blame on Rooney for that than Gerrard tbh. Our defending for their second goal was just poor all round, thought I was watching Leeds for a minute Fecking Tom Lees not picking up Ballotelli, and Kenny rooted to his line being beaten by a header from 6 yards again
So then Hodgson played him out of position? as for his club he averages a dozen shots a game, as for Gerrard as DM !!! FFS he is one of the worst tacklers in the WC, free kicks on the edge of the box, two footed tackles.....need i go on Boggers!!
Johnson - **** Gerrard - a spectator Baines - left marking 2 men for both goal Rooney - not a right winger - should have scored Cahill - not marking Balotelli for the 2nd goal Sturridge - Should have scored his early chance Woy - let Pirlo run the show (again) Sterling - ok going forward, out of his depth when they had the ball (which was 60% of the match) Wellbeck - my man of the match - won the ball countless times and put in a good shift Apart from that we did ok
