So many of them still view their team as a 'sleeping giant' as opposed to 'sleep walking in to obscurity'. It must be painful to accept that you are not famous, feared or even respected anymore

Didn't get to the end. Spat my tea out at 'Mighty Leeds' and had to mop up my keyboard!

Just wow. Talk about deluded! Leeds fans really are unable to let go of their past and realise they aren't big or special anymore!

The bloke who wrote it then has the cheek to tell Canaries fans not to take cheap shots at Leeds, despite almost every word of his piece being a disrespectful cliche!

We don't start threads on our board about how other clubs aren't big clubs anymore, just saying..... <whistle>

If he'd had a valid footballing point to make, neither would I have remarked on it, but when it's an excuse to just slag off Delia Smith and her legions of "six-fingered fans" then it deserves to be highlighted - to show the author up for the cnut he is <ok>
It's written by a bitter, biased twat and deserves to be ridiculed as such, hence me bringing it to NCFC fans attention <ok>

    A) 5.18am? You need to get some sleep and stop worrying about us chief.
    B) this would appear to be an admission that you are no longer a big club? Which is pleasing and entirely correct. Just unexpected.

I didn't read it to be honest, I try to stay away from those sort of articles

    A) In australia mate <ok>

    B) Hmm I wouldn't say so, I didn't really mention anything of the sort (whether I agree or disagree which I'll stay away from at this stage <laugh>) I don't claim we are anything fantastic on the football pitch and we don't "deserve" any footballing accolades purely because of past successes, until the stuff on the pitch gets sorted out (which is looking like an ever longer task) then we are where we deserve to be. Just a shame for the fans as no one can take away our away fans' consistent performance.

Good, down to earth post Josh, nice to see <ok>

I did not realise you were based in Oz, that explains why I normally see you pop up at what look like unearthly hours to the UK.

There is no question that the fans loyalty has been nothing short of excellent, especially 'on the road'. That hardcore of fans have done the club and team proud, although what happens at Elland Road, is much less commendable. Going on the scenario that Leeds remained languishing in the 2nd tier, or even below again, for another 10-15 years, do you believe the hardcore travelling fanbase will thrive? I am guessing over that sort of period, many of them will be in to their mid 40's and beyond which means a newer generation needs to drum up the same enthusiasm and belief, but it would be based on very little other than blind faith that Leeds day may return one day.

Not suggesting Leeds will still be languishing in the lower echelons in that time but they could be as there is not much to suggest otherwise at this time.
