It should be a lot cooler in October but still in the 30's. Dubai/Abu Dhabi are great places to live. Lifestyle over here for expats is great. If you get the chance to live and work here, go for it, great life experience

Currently Baku, Azerbaijan since around 2005. Before that in reverse order it was (all with the wife):

Leatherhead, Surrey
Billericay, Essex
Overland Park, Kansas
Between Meekathrra and Perth,West Oz
South Shields

We get back around 4 times a year, and get tot the matches as often as we can. Last one being Wembley :)

Grand thread this. Looking forward to the new season. Disappointed Gingerus Ninjerus left, but we move on. Securing Alonso and Borini, plus an attacking midfielder would be a good closed season IMO.

I was born in Castletown, where my mother was born and bred, but I was brought up in Yorkshire because my dad was a Yorkshireman. Due to family and work commitments, I have worked all over the country and now run a guesthouse in Snowdonia. Sunderland has always been my spiritual home and I'm always proud to call myself a mackem. If circumstances allowed I would move back there tomorrow but it's not likely in the foreseeable future. I just have to settle for getting to matches when I can.

Never lived in Sunderland, been there a couple of times tho. Born in Aberdeen, moved to Perth, then around the world via Dubai, Venezuela, Wales, Brazil, Sydney, Nigeria, Scotland, then back here to quiet Perth. Love the UK, but wouldnt move back to live for an extended period of time. Love the laidback lifestyle of Perth haha

When i lived in Brazil my best mates were from Sunderland. Loved Allan Johnstone, so followed them for him. But I damn well went and fell in love with the club didn't i!? Summerbee, Gray, SKP, Quinn, Hutchinson, etc. Love the people from there, the club, and stuck by them even through the bad times of the 15 and 19 point seasons. Could easily of jumped ship to Utd, but Sunderland was under my skin haha

Nottinghamshire - not far!

Uni then teaching post grad then work. Go to several away games and two or three home usually each yr. don't think I'd come back. Only reason would be the football!

Basingstoke, Hampshire. My dads from Shotton Colliery and my Grandad still lives there. Something of a local celeb being the ex chairman of the Easington and Borough Council. Supported the lads since the day I was born and proud to do so. Always been proud of my family roots in the North East and get up there as often as I can. Now I've got a nipper of my own and educating him accordingly. Someones got to his mother and half brothers are all glory gooners.

Farnborough after london, not done half as much travelling as some folk. Moved from Hebburn in 89 after split from long time girlfriend, found out she then went to new Zealand lol. Would love to go back home but work and wife are the sticky points at present. Going home next week to see family and can't wait.

Where abouts?

I'm in Cape Town have been here for 10 years now.

Just got back from a trip to the UK, got the boat here in Cape Town end of April sailed to Southampton, then
spent time visiting friends and family in Weston-Super-Mud, the Midlands, Liverpool, Lytham St Annes and London
flew back last Tuesday.

Bumped into a fellow Mackem on the boat.

I was on my way to collect the daily newspaper and he wanted to know a particular scoreline, which could have been anyone.

It happened to be the Sunderland game against Man U, I had great pleasure in telling him we won 1-0.

Born & Bred in Consett (Bridgehill).
Left for Scotland in 1988 thru work.
Moved to Anstruther, Fife (10 miles South of St Andrews) in 1998 a unique and idyllic setting, one of the UKs best kept secrets, surrounded by the best golf courses in the world.

SAFC will always be in my blood and I get to games when I can.

Return to live in the NE - cannot see it mesel, coz it's a s h I t h o l e. 😜
