Ehab has a meeting arranged with Davies' agent in two weeks, to negotiate improved terms, so he obviously isn't going anywhere and the Allam's haven't given up on the name change, far from it.
The interest in Maguire and May is that they will fall into the 'Homegrown' talent. So can be used I think as part of the squad submission for Europe. At the moment we have a gaping hole naming home grown players - capable homegrown players.
Could be a ploy to get Newcastle (or other club) to cough up the cash before then, rather than wait 'til he gets a new deal which would up his transfer value and his wage negotiations.
I thought they had to have played for us for a couple of seasons, which why Oxley couldnt count towards the HG status either - as he has been loaned out?
We haven't got any homegrown players and we can't buy them, they need to have come through our academy.
Stevie May isn't homegrown anyway he was trained in Scotland. The homegrown rules are 4 players trained in the country and 4 players trained at the club for 3 consecutive season between the ages of 15-21. U-21's can be left out of the 25 man squad (A list) and registered on the B list, but they have to have spent at least 2 full consecutive seasons at the club to qualify. So the reality is, we'll have a 21 man squad for the Europa league, and nothing we do will grow that number unless we resign Liam Cooper and Tom Cairney.
