Ciao is brilliant and best for Italian food. It also has the best quality take away. Brilliant Pizzas
Anyone know what has happened to the White Harte pub, in the Old Town, just down the road from The City Hotel? Its been closed for ages. Who owns it? Is it for sale? And how much?
I think it's still owned by the lady who owns Whittington and Cat, and The Railway Inn at New Ellerby.
Just in the lakes at the mo with our lass. Cartmel to be precise. Ate at L'enclume last night. Two star michelin restaurant and f**k me was it good grub. 21 course taster menu of food fit for the gods. Service was unbelievable too. Like it must have been in first class on the titanic before it sunk. And the wine. Sublime it were. Was drinking by the glass and asking the sommelier for his recommendations. Spot on every time. Highly recommend the place.
Is the Lantern still on the go? I left Hull 35 years ago and it had been open at least 5 years before.
First time i've read Jimmy's posts, top man and funny as ****. Did Carmine ever take Jimmy's offer up?
That makes me feel like tekkin our lass to West Bulls, its so evocative. diner times obviously its cheaper
Anyone else been to Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen' restaurant in Cornwall? Great views and the best meal I've ever had
The Wellington Inn in Lund has a fantastic menu at reasonable prices. Right up there with the Pipe and Glass. My two favourite East Yorks pub restaurants. http://www.thewellingtoninn.co.uk/barmeals.html
Agree pipe and glass, Wellington Lund, triton inn sledmere are all top of my list dog and duck walkington is also very good food.
Star at Sancton. It's been fantastic every time I've been. Certainly one of the best restaurants in the region.
I had the Halibut there a few months back (in fact, probably last year now) and it was over-cooked making it dry as chuff. I much prefer proper pub grub.
Is that the one on Chants Ave? I went there for a friends birthday night and Mrs TT had some kind of pasta dish. It took 20 minutes longer than everybody else's to cook and by the time it did come out the portion was so small she'd finished before everybody else. Needless to say I didn't pay for it. Also, anybody with shoe sizes bigger than a 10 will struggle to get up those stairs. It's average at best. The best Italian I've been to is probably Lucia's in Beverley. One of my favourites at the minute is Aunt Bibby's on Bev Rd, sometimes the service can be a bit **** but the food is immense.
