Riot police have stopped anti-World Cup protesters eight miles from the stadium in Sao Paulo, using rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades. One of the stun grenades has injured Shasta Darlington, who is CNN Brazil Bureau Chief... please log in to view this image
Hopefully people from all over the world can club together and riot at FIFA headquarters and tear septic apart in a mass human tug of war. We could get hulls very own Gemma Wilson to bite his nose off anarl.
Why even bid to host such a big event when you know you're country is just going to look awful across the world. I've always fancied a visit to somewhere like Brazil, but after seeing and hearing about things such as this for months, I think I'll avoid it. Hopefully all England fans will return home safely with no injuries
Best way to increase the countries health and transport kitty is to riot against the world cup, making the entire world think that Brazil is full of hooligans and destroying their tourism in the process, obviously ...
It seems that Shasta Darlington has just suffered some cuts, but São Paulo producer Barbara Arvanitidis has a suspected broken arm.
Shasta Darlington ‏@ShastaCNN Leaving hospital with @Arvanb01 and Miguel Castro, everybody OK. Thank you for messages of support #CNNWorldCup
Brazil is a country of extremes. People are either very rich or live in the gutter, not really any in betweens, people I know who have been there say there are literally areas that are no go, if you go, you won't come back. It's a shame because it's such a big country that it's only in small areas that are bad. This WC was supposed to be helping their economy long term. Supposed to be to try & help them so they don't rip down their rain forests!
It's the WC. Usual news items:- - hooligan threat & precautions - non availability of tickets - stadia not ready - land full of contrasts - England feeling very confident and spirit in the camp -some ****ish rule change and over zealous refs
Always a news frenzy about 'hooligans' handing in passports. Just watching the opening ceremony....lots of idiots running around a multi coloured ball. Worse than London 2012.
The central ball thing has split open like a Terry's chocolate ball. Amazing stuff. Some gimp akin to Like Said Fred currently shouting incoherently.
If they're kicking off now, i wonder what they'll do for the Olympics. The country loves Football & the money has been shared all over the country, but for the Olympics all the money is being spent on Rio. Plus, i doubt the Brazilians in the favelas will care for stuff like horse riding.
