After an exciting start to the transfer window are things starting to take a turn for the worse? With the signing of Chopra and then Ingimarsson, we were all starting to get excited, especially with all the talk of possible targets but things may just be starting to turn a little sour. The signing of Ellington was hardly one to set the pulses racing but he may just prove to be a good signing, time will tell and he should get our backing!! Now i have read that Pearce looks set to join Pompey, Green is in talks with Charlton, Conway has joined Cardiff, Goodwillie is in talks with Cardiff (could be a blessing though) and Leicester are after Sledger. At the same time we are linked with Koumas, which i'm not so sure is a great thing, like the Duke he has a very poor last 4 seasons!! I know we need a mixture of youth and experience but we seem to be targeting players who had quality but have not been playing too well over the last few years, could be a stroke of genious or could backfire big time!! To be honest i am mighty pissed off that we may have missed out on the likes of Pearce and Green as i think that these lads would be hungry to succeed and would have enhanced our squad. Add to this the doubt over Cresswell and it appears that we may fail on plenty of targets and get left with the old codgers that nobody wants!! Saying that, the above mentioned were only linked, although strongly linked, and maybe they were never targets at all. Thoughts guys, anyone think we may have missed the boat once again? Oh and by the way, I still don't have much confidence in Clegg!!
Well unless they have actually signed then all is not lost on some of these youngsters, Pearce was never going to happen with the clause. As for Green and Cresswell. If they know we are interested and if we have put in a bid and they still go to clubs like Charlton or any other division one club then we really do not want them. Its some of the other potential signings that are dragging their feets. Coppinger(Would like him) Treacy (Would like him) St Ledger (Would like him) Brown (not sure i think we may need a player like him) Koumas (Never really warmed to him)
