I'd intended to just post the comp.entry and creep away, but as I'm awake now, I'll leave two prophecies of doom: * this will be a tournament too far for Gerrard, and I wouldn't even have taken him. His legs have gone, he can't protect the back four, and he's not quick enough to get up and support the front two. He gets away with it with his club because teammates put in 110% to cover his deficiencies, but the England players won't. * leaving out Ashley Cole will come back to haunt Hodgson. Baines is OK iin the opposition half, but he can't defend. Against Palace, Bolassie took the ball up to him three times in about ten minutes and just ran past him each time - think what good players will do. A wide-defender pairing of Baines and Glen Johnson can't bring about a happy outcome.
I'd agree with these two statements. England should beat Costa Rica but that'll be it imo I think its going to be a short tournament for what is one of the weakest England teams in years
