Howay guys, nobody outside of England has ever heard of Sunderland, and most of the southerners think it's actually just a region of Newcastle

Its not a dig at Sunderland, the lad is just saying what most people recognise.

He is obviously sick of relegation fights and wasn't willing to risk it. Sunderland ight do better under Poyet, but history suggests they probably won't make any significant leap. He wants to play for a top ten club, that is obviously more likely with us looking at recent history. His hometown club coupled with a club clearly better equipped to progress has made it a simple choice for him. I don't understand why Sunderland fans are so up in arms. He is no world beater. They had their chance and tried to play a game of contract cat and mouse with him. The ginger mouse won.

 

Unless they finished below us, then its failed cup runs apparantly.

 

Of course Pardew would say that..Sunderland have made his life hell in recent years.He is not exactly renowned for his honesty is he...As it is not a direct quote from Colback, I will stick to my guns and believe that it is a comment from Pardew and not him..
