You will be welcome Gandy. Some Athlone R's will be arranging a pub. Will put up details here when confirmed.

There used to be a pub in Athlone called "The Loft". I remember seeing a photo of it in a match-day programme a few years ago with a couple of London R's on holiday stood outside it in their jerseys. I don't know if its still there.

Otherwise, there's always the oldest pub in Ireland: http://seansbar.lightholderproductions.com/

If anyone figures out where they get based for the few days post it...would make a nice alternative to see QPR at Carton House for their pre-season than Real Madrid!

Talking of Ireland, they're kicking off against Portugal in 15 mins. It's the final international friendly pre-world cup, Kevin Doyle's on the bench.

Doyle did well in the last game against Costa Rica. Scored one but had his head split open by a flying elbow. Doubt he's Premier League quality anymore but we'll wait and see if Harry makes a move.

is anyone from this board coming over?
I'm thinking of staying up but haven't booked a hotel yet.
if we could all stay in roughly the same area that'd be handy.

They're staying in mayo. They heard about the great day we had in Hanleys bar and they want to experience it for a week's bonding !

fingasqpr, one of my favourite days when I worked in the Crown & Sceptre was when the Irish R's came over. Glad you will get to watch the boys without jumping on a plane. Remember seeing you in the pub with the wee lad every home game, fair play, people don't realise the commitment some fans put in!!

Oh my parents are from Westport in Mayo!! They should have played Westport Utd!! lol
