Cotterill away on holiday for another 10 days at least, nothing is likely to happen in the immediate future.
Sounds like there is some substance to the story. He's under 24 - how much would the compensation be do you think?
Anyway here is the latest Luke Ayling article from BP BRISTOL City are weighing up whether to table a formal bid for Yeovil Town defender Luke Ayling. Robins boss Steve Cotterill has been keeping tabs on the former Arsenal youth-team player, who is out of contract at Huish Park and yet to sign a new deal. Although there has been no official contact at boardroom level between the two clubs, City have scouted Ayling on several occasions in recent months and the right-back figures on a list of potential targets at Ashton Gate. With Cotterill away on holiday for another 10 days at least, nothing is likely to happen in the immediate future. But the Bristol Post understands City are maintaining their interest in a player who came through the ranks at the Emirates alongside Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere. Cotterill is looking to strengthen a number of areas, including the right side of defence, and he is believed to be in the market for an alternative to Brendan Moloney, who started only a handful of games during the second half of last season. Scott Wagstaff was deployed as a right wing-back in a majority of games under Cotterill last season, but he is not a natural defender. Adept at playing on the right side of a flat back four, as a wing-back or even in midfield, Ayling is a versatile type who fits Cotterill's requirement for players who can cover a number of positions. Yeovil manager Gary Johnson is keen to retain the Londoner's services and has offered him a new contract. But the Lambeth-born defender has yet to sign and Johnson is resigned to losing him. City are sure to face competition for his signature and Championship clubs Ipswich Town and Brentford are both reported to be showing interest in Ayling, who is keeping his options open for now. A member of Arsenal's double-winning youth team in 2009-10, Ayling joined the Glovers on a permanent basis in the summer of 2010 following a short loan spell in Somerset. Hampered by discipline issues to begin with – he collected 13 yellow and two red cards during his first season – Ayling went on to make 185 appearances for the Huish Park club, becoming a firm favourite with the fans. He featured in the Yeovil side that defeated Brentford 2-1 in the 2013 League One play-off final at Wembley and played 42 times in the Championship last season. But Yeovil's relegation at the end of last season means he is now ready to consider offers from elsewhere and a move to Ashton Gate would allow him to stay in his Somerset home with his young family. Because Ayling is aged under 24, Yeovil would be entitled to compensation under the terms of the Bosman Ruling http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Yeovil...nsfer-target/story-21214442-detail/story.html
11 Jun 2014 12:56:13 MK Dons Chairman Pete Winkleman to allow boss Karl Robinson to make several high profile signings this summer in order to lift the club to Championship, with a squad member and playing style overhaul. Current targets confirmed: Sam Baldock - Bristol City James Hanson - Bradford Emmanuel-Thomas - Bristol City Gray - Luton Town Luke Prosser - Southend In addition, Winkleman wants to negotiate £5M sale of Dele Alli to Chelsea or Arsenal, willing to pay cash up front, with a season long loan clause for 14/15 campaign. From the infamous site.....
Not at all surprised to see interest in Baldock and JET, though I don't know why either would want to go to MK Dons when it looks like we should be challengers next season in the same division. I'd be more worried about interest in either from Championship clubs.
They had a good season finishing on 60 points. We had a horrendous one finishing on 58. No offence to MK Dons but we are a much bigger club. Can understand Baldock going there (which he wouldn't) but JET wouldn't even entertain it.
13 Jun 2014 09:13:18 After missing out on Lewis grabban middlesbrough have now turned there attentions to Bristol city striker sam baldock they believe that a bid of £1M could be enough to strike a deal
13 Jun 2014 09:33:08 Bristol City to turn to Norwich City for Declan Rudd if they can't land Simon Moore on a season long loan
13 Jun 2014 16:01:04 Keith Burt has put striker Leroy Lita at the top of his striker wish list. Steve Cotterill though, is hesitant on bringing the former Bristol City man back to Ashton Gate.
It would not surprise me to see Ruddy move to a PL club in the summer and Rudd be first choice at Norwich?
I do think Leroy would do a good job in League 1 - the problem is he brings baggage with him. He's 30 in December - time flies!

City linked with Alex Smith released by Swindon (probably agent talking this up) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Smith_(footballer_born_1991)
Bristol City are pushing hard to sign Mark little with both parties close to agreeing a deal. Wade Elliott very very likely to be signing a 1 year deal. Steve Cotterill is back from holiday on Sunday and these 2 players are expected to be signed next week.
