I know, but we have plenty we could sell right now. Do you think that Oscar could play next to Matic in front of the DEF?

Believe me I would love Toure over Mikel or Ramires <laugh>

I think he should be given a chance to in fairness, I hope we see more 4-3-3 next season!

Toure would be a non starter. He'll be on silly money at City and even if they'd sell to us (which they won't), his fee and wages would far outstrip the return given his age. I'm more than happy with Matic who can play a similar role and has years left in the tank.

Pogba would be a much better investment and more 'gettable' IMO.

No I'm not ,and we don't get tabloids in Melbourne. I just don't rate Fabregas as much as others do.He's not surplus at Barca for no reason, and he doesn't play as a creative midfielder anymore anyway, but further up where we are over run with talent already. If he did, Barca wouldn't be selling. Not saying he can't play, just that I don't think hes right for us. We need a Modric or Pogba type and that's not Fabregas. Plus he is a spikey selfish personality and potential trouble for a manager with a short fuse for dissent. On the other hand, Hazard is NOT a happy bunny and I believe he wont take another season being asked to play the way of last season.Lets hope I'm wrong on both counts, but that is what I think.

Just asked where you thought Fab would play on another thread, hadn`t seen this , i agree with you about Pogba and would love United to try to get him back (he is needed more by us than by you). At the moment i think you would benefit more from a Pirlow type player to sit beside Matic and make things happen, mata would have been good <whistle> or Modric as you suggested.

Fabregas actually played more than Xavi and Iniesta last season, with very good stats to boot. The big Spanish clubs are strange when it comes to their players, and they quite clearly would rather have Koke or Rakitic than Fabregas so are prepared to let him go in order to fund him. I heard Barcelona feel that Fabregas isn't disciplined enough to play the way they want him to.

I actually agree with you on Fabregas, I don't like him either. Always thought he was a complete tool, however there's no denying his class. Modric is insanely overrated and Fabregas is far better, but I would love us to go for Pogba!

Also think you and others are totally wrong about Hazard. He's just taken the number 10 shirt, you don't do that sort of thing if you plan on leaving soon!

Diego, Mata couldn't play the pivot role to save his life. Probably another reason we got rid.

Agree. Modric, pogba or Koke would be great. Preferable to Fab in that role maybe

Why are you convinced Hazard is not a happy bunny??

After he knuckled down in autumn, after Jose's reprimanded him for losing his paasport and not training properly, he produced the best football of his career before his injury v PSG.

Like everyone else on here, it's just an opinion. I base it on his attitude, his off hand comments to Belgian media, his brothers comments about how "negative" and "boring" Eden thinks it is playing the Chelsea way, how he'd love to play for PSG " if the opportunity arose". Now all of this might be paper talk, but there does seem to be a deep seated dislike at being made to sacrifice some of his natural instincts to "help out the team". I think theres enough smoke to think there is actually a fire. And finally, Jose has rid the team of some young creative players with "attitude" problems with Lukaku next to go. That puts Hazard right in the firing line for me. Unless there is a revolution in our playing style, then Hazard is on his bike for mine.

Why? Jose likes quick attacking outside-in wingers. Hazard fits this profile. No revolution needed. JUst players listening to their manager, rather than excercising player power through their agents and tabloid media..

Here is some tabloid tittle tattle: Hazard says: 'I'm happy at Chelsea and rules out PSG move'.
Belgium ace Eden Hazard rules out a move to Paris St Germain
EDEN HAZARD insists he is happy at Chelsea and that he fully expects to be at Stamford Bridge next season.
He said: "I know maybe I have to do better in training or on the pitch.

"I want to score more and help the team score more goals and next season I hope we can be better."

Until Hazard comes out publically and says he wants to leave Chelsea, I would not panic CP.

The like of PSG will always be sniffing around Hazard. If one day he leaves, so be it. He is not irreplacable. Team>individuals all day long

Hope youre right EC Hazard is just top class . I also hope we DO go for it more this year and if we get Fabregas, hope hes good too. We all have our ideas on who we want and whos the best I just tell it how I feel. Pogba would set up our whole team for me and even Torres might score with him in midfield!!! I might make a lousy manager, but its not for lack of trying !!!

Interviewed by the French radio station, Hazard dismissed any idea of him leaving ,saying: ‘I’m only thinking about the World Cup, voila… I’m fine at Chelsea.’

Interviewer: ‘So there’s very little chance of you leaving Chelsea?’

Hazard: (Almost interjecting): ‘There is no chance.’

Interviewer: ‘Chelsea’s number 10.’

Hazard: ‘Voila.’

Hazard latest CP:

Hazard has confirmed discussions over fresh terms have begun, whilst also committing his future to the Stamford Bridge club.
'I am staying at Chelsea, 100 per cent sure,' said the 23-year-old.
'Of course in football you never know, but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there.
'And I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract. It is only the beginning of the talks right now, but we have got time.
'But the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means that they have got a lot of confidence in me, that I can do a good job, and that they can count on me.'

Don't listen to the Belgian media or his brothers, that' all tabloid rubbish, engineered by agents to get players bigger wages

Some hack sites like GIVEMESPORT etc are reporting that Cesc has agreed personal terms and will sign for £30m.
Maybe a nugget of truth in there, but I would like a more credible source before I cheer!

Really we are just trying to stiff Arsenal of 1.5m, not really too much. They only get half of the profit that Barca make, with the current price Barca paid being quoted as 27m.

Just get it done and get Costa in too. Settle the squad down and no Rooney situation like last year.

Love the spin that the Star is putting on it. that Arsenal are delaying the transfer because they want what is contractually owed to them.
Surely it is US delaying this transfer because we dont want to give Arsenal £1.5m. Arsenal are just asking Barca to meet the terms of the Sales contract.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/383082/Arsenal-delaying-Cesc-Fabregas-move-to-Chelsea

It's pretty petty of Roman imo. Everyone knows Wenger doesnt spend money anyway, so its not like the money will go towards improving their squad, it will just go in to the Directors pockets.
And besides, what difference would £1.5m make to their transfer kitty? They will still end up with Loic Remy at best and some unknown 20 year old Eastern European player for about £5m. <ok>

£30m for a world class midfielder who counts as homegrown and has PL experience? Nowadays thats a good bargain

Totally agree, both signings need to be made sooner rather than later. I think another defender is definitely needed as well

I reckon we'll end up with Costa, Fabregas a new LB (or Bertrand) and a new CB.
