QPR TO PLAY HOST TO PAOK IN PRE-SEASON

Greek Super League side PAOK will play QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday 9th August

QPR will play host to Greek Super League outfit PAOK in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the 2014/15 Premier League campaign.

PAOK – or Panthessalonikeios Athlitikós Ómilos Konstantinoupoliton to give them their full title – will travel to Loftus Road on Saturday 9th August, kick-off 3.00pm.

PAOK, who competed in the Champions League qualifiers last term, finished second in the Super League in the 2013/14 campaign and as a result, will enter the Europa League at the third round stage next season.

*Ticketing details will be announced in due course.

    Confirmed First Team pre-season fixtures:

    Rot Weiß Erfurt v QPR – Tuesday 22nd July 2014 – 19.30pm (local time)

    RasenBallsport Leipzig v QPR – Saturday 26th July 2014 – 14.30pm (local time)

    Leyton Orient v QPR - Tuesday 29th July 2014 - 19:45pm

    Southend United v QPR – Wednesday 30th July 2014 – 19.45pm

    Shamrock Rovers v QPR - Saturday 2nd August 2014 - 15:00pm

    Athlone Town v QPR - Tuesday 5th August 2014 - 18:00pm

    QPR v PAOK – Saturday 9th August 2014 – 15.00pm

I'm struggling to remember our last pre-season home friendly, any ideas?

I remember us playing an Israeli side (Maccabi Haifa?) back in the 90's I think. Other than that no.

Celtic must have been more recent than that, but surely we've had some since then.....

Checking back we played Plymouth at home leading up to the 2010/11 season, Mackie scored a late equaliser.

I went to the Celtic one too. We beat Fulham 2-1 at one point but I'm not sure it was the same season.

I thought we beat Chelsea at home in the early 2000s, possibly when we were down in 1st division.

Of course I remember us playing Celtic now. I was actually working there at the time. I think we lost 2-0 and it was when O'Neil was in charge and used to bring the Celts down for a game to give us a bit of revenue. It would have been about July/Aug 2002. I will always remember standing inside the players entrance as Celtic walked in. A Celtic fan shouted out to Neil Lennon.. '' Can you sign my shirt Neil? '' To which Lennon replied.. '' Will you give me a f**king break pal, eh?'' He went off to the dressing room and Henrik Larsson went and signed the blokes shirt. Top bloke and a great player.

It was 1-5 as I recall mate. We were destroyed. The lad St Aimee scored for us. The Celtic fans were assholes that day. Most of them were pissed and were F-ing and blinding in front of kids for the whole game. For some reason, the fans were mixed together that day. They ran on the pitch at the end and made a fool of the stewards. To make things worse, I was wearing the green and white Binatone away kit and with my accent some of the R's fans mistook me for one of them and gave me dogs abuse as I was walking into the pub after the game.

Unless there was another game that was 0-2? There may well have been.
