iain dowie's coming out of retirement as well and jimmy bullard wants another crack at the premiership
West Ham were 'in for Colback' at £50k a week. If Lescott's going there then they're selling Curtis Davies to bring in enough to pay Lescott.
There goes Bruce all wage happy again. No team with a 24,000 average attendance can afford those kinds of wages. They're already in debt. Could also divide the dressing room having a player earning way more than the next highest earner. 75k a week has to be bollocks or Brucie is going a bit bonkers again.
Fine mate. Hospitals been out today. No golf for three months. Gutted! I'm canny though, thanks for asking.
Always ask after good lads.. , got a few tricky tests myself to get through in the next week or so, it must be a certain age supporters thing. You be good and do what doc says..
I've had Nowt but ****e with my health since I turned 50. Load of bollocks getting old. Hope you get sorted mate.
Great signing if they get him (though likely it has been leaked to remind people he's available) and 75k isn't a bank-breaking for Hull as it seems. 4 year contract on 75k is £16m (if he gets 4 years, I figured that was maximum). Well you wouldn't question them paying £8m for a guy and paying him £35k per week which equates to the same (actually that would cost more as here the outlay is staggered so they accrue more interest). If they are offering him fewer years then it becomes even less extraordinary as regards wages. I think he would be a cracking player for 15 or so teams in the league (including Man Utd).
Where are you reading that we offered him 75k a week? Do you have a link? Because there is really no way that we are offering him anywhere near 75k.
But that means they'll eventually have a 34-35 year old on 75k a week, not good enough any more to make the team and stuck on the payroll stopping them from bringing anyone else in because they can't get shot off him. They can't afford to do that no way.
It's got to be bollocks fella, it's either made up or he's asking for less in which case the likes of Everton or Spurs will start surely sniffing.
There have been a couple articles recently in which it said he was looking at about 50% of his present salary which would equal 45k a week. There was another article that said he didnt want to move south so West Ham was out. At 75k a week that would mean that he would be making about 30k more a week than anyone else on our team. In negotiating one wouldnt want to come in at 50% above what the last team came in at. Chances are that our offer would match West Hams 50k. Also chances are his agent leaked all this anyway to bring in other clubs and he has no intention of coming to us.
Think it's nail on the head there fella, not so much no intention to come to you, just holding out for a bigger club which I think will happen. I'd like to see us go for him but I don't think he'd come quite frankly.
I dont want to overstay my welcome here. I certainly believe that we made a good offer to him and a substantial one at that. 75k no way. But a Chester, Davies, Lescott back 3 would be one hell of a back 3. With our January additions of Jelly and Long we would be looking at a far better team than we had last season. Remember we had to deal with Graham who was a nonexistent goal scorer for us. I know you all hate Bruce and think he goes crazy during transfer windows but he really has spent wisely with us. Add Lescott to the mix and I personally dont see how we can go down next season. Which is why I would believe that we made a real nice offer to him just not a crazy one.
