Seen this tweet from the official conference twitter account..... https://twitter.com/conferencefooty/status/475238684070277120 "Constitution of Conference agreed by member clubs at the AGM with caveat. Conditions exist on Hereford & Salisbury with cleared funds Monday" So Salisbury (and Hereford) have been given until Monday to secure their finances or they will be kicked out of the conference prem. http://www.footballconference.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=12636 Further tweets from the official conference twitter account regarding this..... "Failure re funds then Premier Division would be constituted with Chester and Dartford in this order." https://twitter.com/conferencefooty/status/475239100635971584 "If such happens then adjustments to be made at Step 2 in favour of Hayes & Yeading and then Tonbridge Angels." https://twitter.com/conferencefooty/status/475239100635971584 Looks like we could be losing both Hereford and Salisbury! And in their place we get Chester and Dartford who would be reinstated back to the conference after their relegation!
Whilst the Premier League made a profit of £2 billion or what ever it was last year this is still aloud to happen and the FA do nothing seeing as The Premier League runs all the football in this country isn't it about time they helped out greedy f**kers
for their fans but not club. rules are rules and they are not their to be broken. gutted for the fans but their club have let them down like portsmouth did to their fans etc. at least this shows that if further punishment is given to wycombe that we could still be saved instead of any points deduction taken from next season. wishful thinking i know but it does shows this.
Here is the statement on the official football conference site.... http://www.footballconference.co.uk/news/details.php?news_id=12658
I quite like Chester because I've got relatives who live there. I'm happy for them, but it's not the way you like to see them reinstated. Real shame for Hereford.
Given all the money flooding into the top end of the game this is absolutely ridiculous. Wake up and smell the coffee Greg Dyke...
Yes indeed - all that Dyke wants to do is further impoverish the lower levels of football with his dopey 'B teams' league. The disparity between the money at the top and bottom is absurd. Leighton Baines is not 40 times better than Michael Smith, but he probably earns 40 times more. Ultimately it's Sky's football money which has ****ed the lower league and grassroots sport.
apparently hereford has dropped 2 leagues. they have dropped out of the conference prem and also dropped another league below conference south/north level.
salisbury have until 5pm today to pay outstanding wages or they will follow hereford and be kicked out of the conference prem. darford waiting to take salisbury place.
With Hereford and possibly Salisbury going and being replaced by Chester and possibly Dartford, we are going to lose two localish derby games and increase our travelling. I too like Chester, lovely City and their pitch crosses the England/Wales border, I believe. Dartford on a Tuesday evening? Count me out.
Unfortunately this is what the introduction of FFP rules was all about, to stop football clubs with over ambitious Boards spending money that in the real world they wouldn't dream of doing on the basis that their ambitions might realise self-important success. Some clubs have sold their souls to the Devil and still achieved very little and now the financial backer now owns all of the infrastructure of the club except the very people who support it. I have to say I feel very sorry for the Salisbury fans and especially Mark Winter who has REALLY put his money where is heart is!
The 5pm deadline has passed and Salisbury have not been expelled yet from the league. This is an official statement by Salisbury....
Tweets from the official football conference.... "To make it clear. No extensions have been granted. The Conference is now following legal process matters under company law articles." "Legal process will be finalised in morning on what has happened up to 5pm this evening. Nothing more or less. Other statements erroneous."
