What a ****, its been proven the African and carribean members are corrupt.

You know they are guilty whenever the race card is played.

He is a complete arsehole. But I suppose he can't admit what everyone else knows, he is in charge of 1 of the most corrupt organisations in the world.

Agree with you 100% Kent. International football is rotten to the core.

Was completely gobsmacked, when I read the article, initially I was fuming when I read it, so thanks Gaz for writing this, other wise I may have used a number of expletives.

    What a w**ker !!!

And to think his response to racist comments, was that players should just shake hands after the game.

The guy is an embarrassing joke for international football.

He brings the entire game into disrepute.

''Fifa will rule on the validity of the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in September or October.
At that point, the president of football's world governing body said, the "matter will be closed".''

So the organisation that is the subject of corruption will discuss the validity of this? That makes complete sense. Blatter then goes on to say...

Fifa needed to combat "anything that smacks of discrimination and racism".
"It really makes me sad," he added.

Nothing mentioned whatsoever about refuting the corruption claims, but in his warped and misguided mind, claims of discrimination and racism trumps everything else. Maybe he should just shake hands with 'The Times' and get on with sorting out the institutionalised corruption within FIFA.

You can say what you like about Blatter (and I hate the c***, so often do) BUT......You cannot deny the fella is a perfect politician. Anyone who remains voted in power for that long, by pandering to people when needed and then dropping them like a stone, is a genius.

People normally trump out the 'race' card when they are incapable of offering a genuine reply and or are guilty as sin.
I tend to think that particular organisation would be as corrupt as humanly possible.

Sepp Blatter anagrams to Belt perhaps?

Looks like most us on here would like to belt him with no perhaps about it.

It beggars belief that he is still in a position of power.

I think I read somewhere that he plans to announce - during this world cup - that he will stand again for the presidency. Only competition will be Champagne and/or Platini.

Can you imagine all the freebies, trips, high class hotels, business class travel, fine dining and all that before you get to the backhanders?

Why wouldn't he stand for re-election? It's not like his integrity is at stake. That went a very long time ago.

I would appreciate hearing what others think....but this statement by Blatter alleging racism, is actually racism of the highest order, cannot people see that

People of all races have the ability to be corrupt and implying that it simply the colour of the skin, and that is the reason behind the allegations is itself an extremely racist act

...no what the ST is implying is that FIFA run by Blatter is corrupt....some are Africans, some are Arabic, some are Americans, some are Europeans....the only thing that links them, is not the colour of their skin but the fact that they are corrupt.

Wake up and smell the coffee...no the ST is not racist...Blatter is

He's already stated he won't run again unless he has the full support of uefa. Sounds like he's daring them to oppose him, so he can then give more euro spots to Africa as they play ball with bribes

Considering FIFA's lack of real action when a racist incident occurs, it's a bit rich him saying that what's going on is rasict

Yeah, he said victims of racial abuse should settle it with a handshake.
So real racist abuse is not worth bothering about but he makes up fake racism claims to try and deflect attention from his corrupt organisation.

I'll celebrate when he dies. Let's hope its soon.

You've totally missed the point, he brushes off racism in football while calling the BBC and the guardian racists for uncovering the bribes in Fifa.
