If rumours are to be believed then they are foolish spending €80k pw on Rio Ferdinand. He 35 ffs. No one has doubted his talent over the year. The only real winner is Rio himself, certainly not the club.

This has relegation attitude written all over it,, wasteful incompetance in the nieve hope that he will somehow make a difference to them staying up. <laugh>

You dont go from a league winning team to being **** in the space of 2 seasons. I do agree though, QPR need more than this calibre to be safe this time next year.

Fair play to Fryatt for signing with Forrest. He's a top championship striker who will do very well for them and I dont blame him at all for snubbing us. Why would he want to play a few cup games and possibly a few games in europe when he can play week in week out for a team who will be looking at promotion next season with a decent manager like Pearce. He's made the right choice if the rumours are true.

Fryatt has not signed for Forest yet though if he wants to play each week Forest is his best option.

The only reason rio has looked good in the past is because teams turned up at old Trafford parking the bus, so he wasn't tested a lot, but now teams are turning up and having a go at them he's been shown up a bit!

The strategy must be to strengthen the PL squad with the addition of 3/4 players each season until we have 25 players all PL standard. That means those players on the periphery last season like Fryatt, Quinn, Faye and Koren (last 2 have already been released) are first in line to be shipped out so we can buy better players.

It's what we have to do to become an 'established' PL team.

and in fairness to you boys you've done brilliantly.
getting to a cup final and finishing mid table is to be applauded.
I hope we have half as good a year next season as you did.

If you have half as good a season as us then you'll be relegated.

    Robin Chipperfield (@sportchippers) tweeted at 3:23pm - 9 Jun 14:

Bit late with this one, but #nffc in advanced talks with Matt Fryatt & @larsveldwijk - but don't be too surprised if final conf isnt today (https://twitter.com/sportchippers/status/476006598805315584)

Looks like he's on his way. Massive shame. He will cost good money to replace which could be far better spent elsewhere.

Fryatt did nothing for us in the league and was only ever a squad player.
If we really wanted him we'd have kept him on better terms.

Wait and see what we get instead... I could never see him wanting to stay to be a bench warmer.

Quinn is PL standard without a doubt. But the other 3 wont be missed much and would not have started many PL games if any ? Fryatt i suspect was going to start our cups games though.

Not an area that is urgent. We have enough up top anyway with Long Jelavic Aluko Sagbo. I would like us to take Assambalonga from Peterboro now.

Maybe we could offer Proschwitz in part exchange. ? <whistle>

We don't need fryatt! We've got long, jelly, Sagbo and then aluko & Brady. We need to strengthen elsewhere. Fryatt knows this and will be looking for more game time I think.

Fryatt i suspect will get many games and seasons now in the championship as i dont see Forest as anything other than maybe a 6th place team and the play-offs.

I highly doubt they'd see that as a fair trade off. He'll get a free transfer and bugger off back to Germany.
