Good Morning Everyone, Rudy Austin's Jamaica lost 8-0 to France yesterday, and although obviously not blaming him for the loss, can't help but think that we need a combative midfielder who can keep the ball and pass it. I would be the first to admire his surging runs (though they amount to very little), and the fact that he never stops running, but the way he plays, he's a luxury player we can do without! Agree? If indeed, it is a three horse race to see who will take the Elland Road hot seat, lets look at the top three that bookies think it will be! Next Permanent Manager

Eamonn Dolan 2/5 Gary McAllister 13/2 Dave Hockaday 13/2

What are our thoughts about these three? When would be expect to hear official word? What does this say about our ambition? It is more than a possibility that Jack Butland will return to us on a season long loan next season. Thoughts? Morning El Has Cellino put Hockaday and Dolan in the running so fans feel better about working with Macca again? I certainly hope thats the case as I'd give Macca one more chance over two unknowns, thats not to say Histon etc has been forgotten! Austin- great heart not good enough to be a starter in Championship football IMO.
Morning all. Dont think there will be an appointment before Wednesday with Cellino having to deal with the winding up order over the next two days. Also probably not a huge hurry as new man will have no one to coach for another three weeks anyway. Either way, our pre season is unlikely to be dull and at least for the first time in years, we will likely be signing proper players and beginning the process of moving forwards.
Morning all ... Austin will be with us next season, just hope he can improve but doubt it ... next coach is a worry, not one single name that has experience and success ... Cellino is starting to look a bit dangerous for our club with his approach, we'll probably be playing in red next followed by a move to Salford to ground share with the rugby league lot ... I can't understand why Cellino isn't looking at a top rate manager to come in, and he needs to be very careful because the Championship is a tough division, so employing a second rate coach to lead the team can quickly end up in relegation ... we've seen it season after season where good teams start badly and don't recover and before you know it they're gone ... look at Wolves, sacked McCarthy, brought in poor quality managers and they simply couldn't find a way back as their club sank into Lge One totally demoralised ... I genuinely fear for our season when looking at the shortlist of three British candidates as not one of them will get us challenging for promotion ... Cellino needs to buck up and sort it out, he can't keep moaning about finances and blaming previous owners, he needs to stick his hand in his pocket and push us on ... sitting back a la Bates does not work, we've seen that policy fail ... as for young Butland, no chance Hughes will send him to a club run by a volatile President and an obscure coach "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
For the first time I know what the 'Silly Season' means. We have no idea if we have cash to spend, a manager/coach of decent repute, new players will be quality or not and indeed if we will bring in new players at all. No idea what will happen with ER/TA, an ex CEO languishing in an arab jail for fraud, a winding up order which could be based upon proceeds of crimes. **** me it must be Leeds and all starts with Bates
Eire, with regard to signing quality players ... we don't have a manager with a list of the players needed to fill the gaps and strengthen the team ... Cellino is more interested in going to court to fight a winding up order that he will have to pay anyway because Haigh has as yet not been found guilty of anything, and its a worry Cellino is doing this because it shows he is not funding the club as we hoped he would ... Cellino has as yet not indicated in the slightest if he wants to sign anyone never mind who ... the only transfer talk is Ross leaving, and I expect that at least 80% of his sale money will be retained by Cellino to fund the running of the club ... the freeze on the bank account is hurting us by the minute as no season ticket sales are happening so cash flow is stunted, and we are losing interest on the money we could have banked ... Cellino needs to settle down and focus "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
Doc that is a spot on post ... how we could do with Man City's owner, at least he is focused on building the club as a whole and not just on winning trophies ... Citeh will soon own Manchester as their awesome community projects take hold "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
Patience Billy patience. It'll all come good in good time. Was never going to be a quick fix thanks to the rather dubious characters that we've had
Morning all - In regards to the candidates, there probably isn't a long queue waiting to take the hot seat due to the way Cellino works and his insistence that he want a coach not a manager. Houghton, Malkay and others of this calibre have ambitions to manage in the Premier League, they obviously feel we have little chance of promotion and do not want their reputations damaged when they would be favourites for the sack in 12 months time.
Good morrow from a sunny Bardsey Who is Eamonn Dolan never heard of him also its today when the winding up petition is heard I think it will be adjourned to await the outcome in Dubai
Morning all, hot 48C in Doha today, The 3 managers mentioned......well if thats the calibre of coach/manager MC is setting his sights on, then god help us, McAllister has been out in the wilderness for a considerable time and lost touch with whats around that may be worth signing! the other two..............well enough said. Cant see Butland coming here for a season, would you if you were him!!! Austin, well its taken its time but i said after i had seen him play 5/6 times on here and got talked down for it, no football brain just brawn, not good enough. One thing i can say is that being in the older generation of Leeds fans, we were spoilt with class players and success, afraid we are not going to see this again for a good while, or if at all from what we are and have been experiencing over the last 7/8 yrs.
Yea that really worked with Mcdermott and Warnock didn't it. Such a flawed argument i'm afraid. Cellino is employing a coach not a manager anyway and having never seen them coach i doubt we are best placed to judge who is good or not.
Agree. Theres a vast difference in what our next coach will be expected to do compared to a traditional manager but some dont seem to get it yet. God forbid, it doesn't work and we might end up with a crap team for the first time in our history
This club is a mess dont you agree? Cellinio is focused, focused in sorting out the financial mess first. Seems some people just want to keep throwing money away and fcuk the mess it creates. He is doing what needs to be done, i for one will give him a chance to do it.
I'd be curious to see what an astute coach could do with the current squad. It's quite clear that it's not automatic promotion material at all, but Ipswich were very near the play offs last year with a squad that doesn't appear to be much better than ours. We do need new players and investment, but a decent quality coach could count for a lot in this league. Look at Derby - McClaren turned them around last year. Admittedly he had a very good squad to work with, but Nigel Clough couldn't get them playing!
Dyche at Burnley had less to work with than us, and where are they now? Less cash, lesser players and lesser wages but automatic promotion. Dyche also turned some average players into potentially decent prem players with some on the verge of International duty
I heard first hand from someone who actually knows Gary Mac on a personal level and who scouts for Arsenal that Gary Mac is an excellent coach, maybe not great at managing but coaching he is said to be pretty good.
Seedorf is in England after playing Soccer Aid last night, he got sacked today by Milan form his COACHING job.........Leeds is obviously his next stop
