Anything over £5million would be a good deal for Swansea. I think he's an average defender who makes costly mistakes through lapses in concentration.
I wouldn't think that's possible, he seems to lack concentration at times and loses the player he's marking. Having said that it might help if he wasn't the captain, it seems to distract him.
All the links and rumours are, imho, being instigated by Ash's agent, who is doing his best trying to maximise Ash's last long term deal. His agent trying to squeeze everything he can out of Huw and co and that's where we're getting these stories from. Arsenal, QPR now Sunderland, really? I just don't see him moving to, or even fitting, any of them and the evidence of their interest is vague to say the least. These stories are being recycled to fill column inches and no more. None have any substantiated evidence or named sources to give them depth or credence. If you think about it there's a world cup blowing in and any football reporter of any consequence has left our shores. The football media is currently in the hands of freelance, day release, students aspiring to get noticed or get their foot in the door of a national. The full-time slime meanwhile are slithering over the streets of Rio attempting to impress the influx of working girls with the length of their congas. The stories we'll read in the coming weeks they've already been written, "Rooney fails again on the big stage", "Blame me, I should have played Sterling on the left" says Englands ex manager, "the paucity of the English defence was embarrassing"; this one is peppered with tearful flash-backs of Terry and Ferdinand back in the day. There's no one home to write anything, and those filling this void will write anything, he'll be linked with Leeds next. I digress, I hope and think that Ash will stay and finish his footballing career here, with us, where he belongs. If he does go though, I truly wish the best for him wherever he might end up.
I have no doubt whatsoever that Ash will still be with us next season, same old tripe appears every summer. He's a top defender and there would be plenty of teams who'd love to have him but I honestly believe he will not go. How some call him an average defender is baffling, having played and coached the game I find it extraordinary that some think he would be no loss to Swansea.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/265377-Monk-looking-at-4-frontmen I suppose it depends which stories you choose to believe. If his agent was really trying to squeeze Swansea you'd think he'd choose more 'likely' buyers than Arsenal, QPR & Sunderland.
Mainly because he's been crap this season, often finds himself out of position, found lacking in concentration in crucial moments which result in goals conceded.
He has not been crap at all valley, He has had the mom on a number of occasions. He has played like he always played ever since he joined, we would be weaker without him that's for sure....
What Monk says "“We are in negotiations with his (Williams’ representatives and trying to put a deal across so that Ash will be here for the future of the club,” Monk confirmed to the South Wales Evening Post. “I know Ashley wants that, I want that, and the club wants that, and that’s what we are working towards as we speak.”"
Ash wont go to a lesser club and will put pen to paper with a pay rise, Thats what i think will happen...
mate In my opinion I dont think we are a bigger club than you. What I do feel is at the moment we have a better side than you and therefore could see no point in the move unless you pay him high wages. Dont expect to get a sensable answer to your last question.
We will have a minimum of £19m to do our shopping with without getting rid of a key player like ash when bony leaves...
