Smear campaign if ever there was one.

The U.S. must be so pissed off with what wikileaks has released re. war crimes etc.

Same with Snowden and the way he has been treated.

These whistle blowers are heroes and should be congratulated for their work.

    Agree.

I am pretty sure there are many charities or organisations that could have done with that 6 million quid rather than spend it on trapping a non violent man in an embassy.

Regardless of the whole leaks affair this is gross misappropriation of public money. he could be holed up i there for life, at the cost of 10s of millions of quids to boot.

    Tax £ well spent<doh>

Someone should send the Ecuador embassy a DVD of the Great Escape.

Or he he could pretend to be part of an Ecuadorian film crew on a location scout

Frontline policing being cut across the country and we're paying for them to stand outside a building in London every day for just one man, who leaked some information that embarrassed the US govt. Makes perfect sense <doh>

Think we still pay several million a year to provide protection for Salman Rushdie as he jets about the world attending celeb events.
